Easy to submit your claim and the refund is deposited to the bank quickly. Very pleased with the insurance for my two labradoodles. My poor Lucy has multiple health conditions, so I am so happy I enrolled her as a puppy.

I bought it for an emergency.

I bought it for an emergency. I'm poor and can't afford a bill upfront and then waiting to be reimbursed. So, the 24 hour hospital near me does NOT take direct pay. I called trupanion to find out where was one that took direct pay and was open at midnight. The girl on the phone was giving me names and locations of places that were just regular vets. She said her computer didn't show her which were the 24 hour emergency hospitals!!!! Come on! That's crazy. Then ... with ME doing the searching FOR HER, I found the ONE, yes, that's right, ONE location in ALL of Austin, Texas that was open 24 hours. Rediculous....if I have an emergency I need to get him help ASAP. The ONE is over 20 miles away from me. My dog could be DEAD before I got him there. I'm seriously considering dropping his insurance because of this. Trupanion is basically worthless to me.

Beware of steep price hikes

I went with Healthy Paws years ago at least in part after reading reviews on Per Insurance Review. Unfortunately I've found myself progressively more dissatisfied overtime. Before I signed up they indicated to me that their annual price increases would be "manageable" and "easy to budget." Generally I would have agreed with that but this year alone received an increase of over 75% from the year prior - forcing me to decrease my coverage in order to fit our budget and am now up to 300-400% of my original rate. I'm honestly a bit worried how their increases will go from here on out. Response time has also gotten worse. In the past I received relatively quick responses to my inquiries but now I regularly have to resend my requests after weeks of no responses.

Customer Service

I have two dogs and have had my pet insurance for each for 15 years. Before this insurance was taken over by Nationwide, I would get my claims reimbursement within a week. When Nationwide took over, it was taken a month plus for reimbursement which I thought was a little long, but did not complain. Since I never had an issue with any of my claims, I was okay with the timeframe. I noticed that the last two claims I submitted were reimbursed within days. Since I also signed up for your reimbursement via bank money transfer instead of check, and now the great turnaround time in claim reimbursements, I am really a happy camper. Can't ask for better service. Thank you. Thank you for taking care of my two pups.

Nationwide is fantastic.

I have been extremely happy with Nationwide. After the initial claim process, all payments are paid promptly. I have had Nationwide for 3 years now and am so grateful as if has helped tremendously with my pet's vet bills. It is great to have that feeling of security in case one of my pet's are sick or injured. I can take care of them without spending thousands out of my own pocket.

Glad I have went with nationwide

I am so glad I went with nationwide. At first I was hesitant and went with another pet insurance company due to reviews. My coworker told me how easy the claim process is thru nationwide and at that time my company offers discounts. I am so glad I have them now for 2 years, one of my fur baby is diagnosed with hypothyroidism and is on medication, I always get my reimbursement without issues so far. My other fur baby having GI issues and still trying to figure out what's wrong. I save a lot of money with nationwide in long run.
