Claims are difficult until they have medical records and it's lunacy to need 1 year of medical records on a 6 mo old dog

I submitted a large claim for a hospitalization in May and the claim has still not been paid. I was told they needed a GAP letter to explain why I don't have a year's worth of medical records on a 6 month old puppy. DUH his birthdate is 12/1/19. I emailed the note twice only to be told they did not receive it. It has been extremely difficult to get the medical records they need. Finally asked to speak to a supervisor and hoping to get this resolved. If you are using the app to submit a claim don't bother. There is an option to request medical records but NO request will be made. This cost me a month of wasted time. Just know they will process no claims without a complete medical records profile of two years for an older dog and 1 year for less than 12 mon old. They do not offer help with getting records and records must be totally complete including all vet notes and labs, tests, etc.

We can always count on you

Nationwide is always there and the claims go through quickly. Our refunds from our vet visits are always paid and our wonderful dog is healthy. It's nice to know that even though we would never compromise our dog's health, we know that our costs will be minimal because Nationwide always pays.

Love my pet insurance!

Buying insurance with nationwide was the best decision I made for my dog! Filing a claim is so easy and I appreciate the updates I receive on my claim. The turn around time on processing the claim is excellent! i would recommend Nationwide to everyone who has a pet.

Pet Insurance is Worth It

I think this insurance is great. I wish I could just pay copayments like my Health Insurance but maybe one day that will happen. This policy is good though because after paying the $250 deductible, Nationwide will reimburse me yYrti90% of the veterinarian’s bill without any limits of schedule of payments including well care.

Best bet for having an active big dog.

I really love having the peace of mind with this insurance. We have 2 very big active dogs and have been extremely pleased with our insurance. The ease of filing claims and the turn around time has made paying the bill one less thing to worry about.

Quick Turnaround!

Second time was the charm! My first time dealing with this insurance when a previous dog died from cancer was a typical insurance nightmare. It took over a month for me to be reimbursed. This time, however, I submitted the claim and received payment less than a week later. Thank you!
