Great Customer Service
Owning a new puppy comes with a lot of challenges! We want to do the best we can for Ajax which includes his healthy puppy vet visits. We also want to make sure he receives the vet care he needs for sickness or injury. Having your pet insurance definitely helps. It is easy to make our monthly auto payments, file claims and receive direct deposit reimbursements. Your customer service team is very professional, friendly and helpful when we have questions. I would definitely recommend to other pet parents.

Reimbursement great but problems @ time
There was alot of confusion on the part of the VCA emergency animal hospital in Indio, ca, Trupanion and me. As soon as we knew our dog Allie had to go to emergency hospital I called Trupanion to see if we would have help. They did an emergency approval for $7000.00 and were so kind and wonderful on the phone. I asked them if they could pay the hospital directly and they said talk to hospital. The hospital said sure. But then said Trupanion got their plan of care but wouldn't send them any money at all until the final bill, even tho by this time our dog had cost thousands to treat and we had paid over our $1000.00 deductable. I called Trupanion and they said true...they won't pay til the final bill but I told them the hospital was hesitant to continue tests and treatments until something was paid. Neither side would change their stand on this. We were able to borrow money from our son and pay cash then we were reimbursed by Trupanion in several days. Unfortunately our beautiful girl died. It was very very hard to go through that and try to find a way to pay for her care at the same time. We thought we would have Trupanion to help us if anything like this happened so I was shocked. There should be a way partial payments can be made if a pet continues to be hospitalized. My daughter has wonderful things to say about Trupanion's help for her dog and except for this we have been happy with it. Maybe someday we may have another dog and we will definitely use Trupanion.

Relieved that Nationwide was there
My dog made several trips to the vet this year unfortunately ie. Allergies, sprained foot Once I paid my deductible, nationwide paid the rest of my bills without question. Speedy reimbursement (within a few days) was a bonus!!
