Easy process
Our dog needed emergency care after hurting her leg during the Covid-19 crisis. We mailed in the receipt from the ER vet and received a check within a couple of weeks. We were notified that the claim was received and when it was approved, and could view it online. The whole process was easy and went smoothly.

This insurance was highly recommended by a group of neighbors and I'm happy I followed their advice. Nationwide had an easy application process and so far the ease of uploading the vet's invoices and being reimbursed has been a breeze.

The reimbursement takes FOREVER
You have to pay upfront and get your money back after the claim. However, the claim takes the company about a week to even review the claim even though I provided the recipe. Then after that I waited another two weeks to get the check in the mail. And the other option of getting direct deposit is not easy. You have to create another account for a bank I don’t have and then it gets transferred there then transfer that to your account. It’s definitely not easy. I appreciate that Pet insurance exists because it’s helpful for you and your pet, but I think they should of updated their system to make it easier and faster by now.

Best investment ever!!
I initially wasn’t going to pay for pet insurance. I thought, their shots would pretty much cost the deductible so why bother, but as I got my own insurance I figured I’d get it just in case since they were both rescue dogs & I didn’t know their history. Come to find out, our newest dog had heartworm disease. The total cost I was quoted was over $1400, so it was a big relief to know I’d be reimbursed a big chunk of it. I figured I would have to wait 30 days for my payment after filing a claim, but they had me a check within 7-10 business days & even faster when I opted in for electronic payments. This has definitely be a wise investment for my pets & I recommend any pet owner to use Nationwide for their pet’s insurance.

Great
My CD hurt her minyskis in her knee and we were very up set then realized we had Nationwide insurance for all my pets and we felt better because we didn't have to worry about a bill to get her to the doctor. At Nation wide you pay the vet bill then nationwide re reimburses you for the visit,all you need to do is send a copy of the vet bill paid with the receipt. Nationwide Pet is piece of mind.
