Easier than anticipated
When I purchased my Bulldog, I also purchased insurance. I have had bulldogs for iver 30 years and some that I would be a millionaire if I had chosen a different breed. My Vet recommended that I take Maui to UGA to be assessed for elongated soft palate, entropion, and hips and knees x-rayed. They also felt having him neutered there was the safest choice. Maui did end up needing his saccules removed and a tiny trim off his pallette. Overall, not bad for a Bulldog. This was all done close to a year old, so UGA neutered him as well at the same time. I submitted my claim and as soon as they had the paperwork needed, they paid. I love that each year without a claim, I get an increase in coverage. Bulldogs are prone to so many health issues and since MetLife doesn't disqualify breed specific issues, I feel confident that he will have his healthcare costs covered if necessary.

Could not have had an easier experience working with PetsBest for my Husky. We needed two TPLO surgeries and a lot of medication. PetsBest made it simple to file a claim and cover their end based on my plan. I switched my two dogs to MetLife in June 2024 after receiving notice that Nationwisde would not be renewing their policies. Sign-up over the phone was simple and the plan was almost the same as what I had, and cost less. I made my first illness claim in September and it was approved in about three weeks. I submitted an illness claim for my second dog in December and there were a few glitches (claim put on hold twice for missing documents which I actiually did submit). Both times I called Customer Service they quickly verified that I had indeed submitted the documents and had the claim removed from "on hold". Approval and payment came two days after my second phone call. I understand MetLife has seen a huge influx of customers from Nationwide and had to hire more staff to process claims. I am hopeful processing will go more smoothly once all the new staff are fully trained. Overall, I am very happy with MetLife.

I compared Pets Best with the monthly costs of other insurances. This is by far the most affordable! I had four claims last year, and all were done quickly and as I understood the reimbursement and coverage. Extremely easy to file claims. Highly recommended!
Love MetLife!
I currently have 5 standard poodles with MetLife Pet Insurance, and have had my policies for several years. I have been very happy with MetLife, and have had all of my claims paid for over the last several years. The length of time for reimbursement on illness claims has increased, but all have been settled within 30 days or less. My wellness claims are reimbursed within a week usually. I have had several different pet insurance policies over the last 12 years and MetLife is my favorite, so far.
