First Time Crisis, First Time Pet Insurance User

I got pet insurance when my kid was just 2 months old and was thinking about stopping it honestly. He was 3 now and nothing had happened to him. Super healthy and everything in life was great. Then I moved to an area I had no idea about and a week later he couldn't pee. He had bladder stones and they had obstructed his urethra. He had to have emergency surgery and I went to one hospital and then was recommended to go to another hospital for overnight care. I was just running around crying and driving, then crying more. Then on top of it all, the bill came. Im not a manager, Im just a lowly worker bee and just don't have that kind of money. Submitting my claim I thought was going to be super hard and take forever to process. You hear insurance and you think think $$$ and taking forever to get help. The submission form online guides you and it took like a week and a half to get money back. AND they covered 2/3rds of the surgery. Like, WHAT?! I was surprised. They even called to check in to see how my pup was doing. Luckily my job let me pick up more hours to help me pay off the rest of my credit card in bigger chunks and my baby healed right up. This insurance has been a helping hand and I don't think I will be cancelling any time soon.

Convenient

Paying ahead of time is more convenient for me so that when I get my check from Nationwide I'm already done with it. Premiums are taken directly out of my paycheck so there are no bills to keep track of.

Absolutely an Exceptional Experience!

I have has Healthy Paws insurance on both of my dogs since I picked them up at 8 weeks. My view is that if I am going to have a dog or 2 :) I had better be able to take care of them! Having insurance gives me the peace of mind to make sure that when there is an emergency that all I have to focus on his my beloved dog. My older dog I have never had to make a claim but my new 7 month old puppy is another story. He is a large breed dog who has bloated 3 times so far where I have had to rush to the emergency room in the middle of the night. My last bill was close to $3000 dollars but since I had Healthy Paws insurance with 90% reimbursement my only worry was my dog Timber. Glad to report that he is doing fantastic now. :) Healthy Paws had my reimbursement check out to me within a week of the emergency room visit! My dogs have better health insurance than me!! They even followed up with me to see how Timber was feeling. :) Thank you Healthy Paws you are PAWSOME!!.

VPI rocks!

I have such peace of mind having VPI in place for my puppy, Jellybean. Although it doesn’t cover everything, it covers a lot! I love the new online services, from submitting a claim to receiving electronic payment. Thank you for all you do to ensure my puppy is happy and healthy!

Initial payment process was somewhat challenging but now since everything is established , getting reimbursement is very convenient. Although our rate went up probably because we actually use the insurance.

It's comforting knowing that Nationwide pet insurance is with me through the small stuff as well as the big stuff.

My fur babies have only been insured for approximately 9 months and there have been a couple issues with sickness and pain. I am happy to know that the pet insurance will help with a portion of the costs of the vet bills, which is very helpful. The online process is nice and saves time. I wish it were faster with the return of the money into my account. But, doesn't everyone wish that?

Extremely easy

Extremely easy to process for payment. My veterinarian s office bills directly thru the insurance. Much better than my "human" insurance company. Great value for the monthly payment. thank you Trupanion!
