Trupanion's pet insurance policy is cleverly crafted to use any reported past "symptom" as a reason to reject a whole range of claims. READ IT. I purchased Trupanion for my labrador because of the Trupanion-generated "success stories" posted in my vet's exam rooms. Now my sweet 5-year-old girl faces euthanasia in about 2 years when she develops chronic pain from hip dysplasia. This condition is regularly and successfully treated by vets, and she could have lived comfortably to a ripe old age. My poor choice of Trupanion cost my pet her life.

Impressed with timeliness of claims.
I was initially not interested in getting insurance for my pets but decided to do this once I got my second dog. I did not want them both to be sick at the same time and be faced with a high vet bill if either one of them get sick or worst both at the same time. When my dog got sick the claim was handled very quickly I was impressed with the timeliness.

Worth it!
Great friendly customer service, easy to file a claim, just have to shop around for a vet that charges reasonable prices and most will be covered 80%! I have had for both our dogs since 2011 and we have made many injuries that have been less stressful knowing that we can afford to give our dogs the care they need. I know people that make their pet suffer because it would be too expensive to get stitches. So I recommend this insurance and it is worth it!

Trupanion comes through once again
This is the third time I have used Trupanion (unfortunately). This insurance has been exactly as described with no hassles. The website is user friendly. I've printed out needed claim forms and either submitted claims myself via email with receipts or had the vet submit with needed medical records. The claims have been resolved to my satisfaction in a reasonable amount of time. 90% of claim after my deductible direct deposited to my account in about 2 weeks time. I personally like the 'per condition' deductible over the customary annual deductible as it is possible that my dog will have problems in the future with these conditions and they are now covered 90% for lifetime. It's expensive but I would never want money to get in the way of what my dog needs to keep him healthy. Thanks Trupanion.

Forms online
Forms were online and easy to fill out. Response to questions was quick and so was the whole process. I receive my check (by mail as I requested, which was slower than if you wanted direct deposit) within less than a month after submitting claim. I felt what I received was a fair amount.
