Awesome pet insurance and customer service

This pet insurance is a life saver. The payments are minimal, but the return is huge when you need them the most. Their claim process is easy to figure out and the communication is great!

Some slight kinks in sharing all the records, but after that it was smooth sailing...

Let's admit that those of us who have dogs are generally freaks for our companions. They're not just family members; they are likely the one relationship we're in which gives us genuinely unconditional love. Not your wife or husband, not your kids. Sure they love us, but there's always good days/bad days. With dogs, it's consistently the best day possible when we come home. Smiles, wagging tails and PURE excitement to see us. What's the point? It's that when something happens to them, it's genuinely scary and frequently heartbreaking. To top this off, it's generally always an expensive outlay since we have to pay everything up front. And anything medical, whether human or animal, costs a lot. So, once everything hopefully works out with your emergency or simple check-up, it's a relief to get a relatively quick reimbursement. The process, at least for me, wasn't filled with stalling on the insurance company's part with continued requests for more/additional info. Most importantly, my best friend (Huckleberry) is doing 1000 times better from that terrible day. The plus was that Nationwide essentially made me whole (less the deductible and few non-covered items). No one loves paying for insurance when all is fine. But, it's not just nice to know it's there if you ever need it, it's essential. I hope none of you ever "need" it, but I can tell you that from my POV, this company stepped up and relieved this concern for me.

Too Slow

This insurance pays too slow. I have been saying it for years but still no change. They should pay the bill upfront instead of reimbursement just like human health insurance. Yes it is good to have if you have the money to pay upfront but if you dont they are not much use.

Consistently Fast Claims Processing!!

Meesha has been insured with Pets Best for over 6 years. Pets Best Insurance has made caring for Meesha so simple and stress free -- she seems to have a lot of accidents/injuries, and we've never had to be stressed out about whether we could afford to go to the Vet. This last claim was for knee surgery (almost $4,000), and I sent the claim in on Saturday 2/9/19, and I just got email today that they just paid it -- and today is Tuesday 2/12/19!!! What a relief to have the money back in my checking account so quickly. I wish our human health insurance was this quick and simple!!

Easy

I wish my Aetna dental claims were this easy. I open the app on my iPad and take a photo of the bill. Hit send and in a few days the check is directly deposited into my checking account. It couldn't be easier.

Dependable insurance ensures that your pet can get the care they need

My dog is part toy poodle and they tend to have knee caps that pop out. It was starting to affect her ability to run around care free. The orthopedic vet said that we could put surgery off for a while, but he wouldn't recommend it, since she will suffer more cartilage damage and develop arthritis at an early age. We've had Healthy Paws coverage since Pixie was a puppy and they covered the surgery for both knees, quickly, efficiently and with no hassles or questions. It's nice to only pay a few hundred dollars for a $3400 surgery! I tell everyone I know with a dog to get insurance. I never want to worry about whether I can afford to give my dog the care she needs.
