Exhausting to deal with

If I could switch companies, I would! But my guy is stuck here because he has medication conditions he developed while on Pets Plus Us. There's almost always some problem or another that you need to call them about.. often them blaming the vet/waiting on the vet which is not true. My vets have shown me proof when they've sent what this company requests and they say they get this problem from PPU all the time. One of my vet clinics has stopped recommending this company. Their customer service is horrible. I just spent 20 mins on the phone, most of it on hold trying to sort out my monthly premiums ($200) for my cats and the discount I was supposed to be getting. Let me say this is the second time I've had to call.. and the first resolved nothing at all, which is typical of PPU. After 20 mins they either hung up on the other end or the call dropped, that's was 20 mins ago. No call back. Nothing. Still unresolved. Add to that.. one of my cats I have an e-mail from them stating the monthly premium would be x amount, and they actually charge nearly $10 more a month than I have them on e-mail stating it would be. I feel this company counts on just exhausting you fighting to get things resolved.. hoping you'll just give up. I don't recommend this company at all, it's far too much hassle. I've been with them for going on 3 years now. Oh and I've never gotten a reimbursement for my cats medications from last May! They denied it.. and it's the exact same ongoing medications they've continue to cover! lol Figure that one out? Literally no change or different, they just decide to decline a month of his monthly medications then resume covering it again lol Not the first time they've done this. They're very unreliable. I'm exhausted trying to deal with them. Reading other reviews it seems I'm not the only one. I will say the positives I've found is that they do cover alternative treatments and when they're not trying to wear you down and are actually on the ball, they're great.

They are always there for me and my cats.

I have had insurance with this company for probably fifteen years, and they have always been there for me and my fur children. I recommend them highly. They will even listen to you and comfort you after the transaction about your pet is done. Five Stars!

I highly recommend this to everyone who has a pet!

I love my pet insurance. I love that they have the vet helpline, which has been so helpful when I’ve wanted to talk to a vet to see if I have an emergency on my hands. I’ve called the helpline a few times before taking my cat to the vet and they’ve been really helpful. I also love how much they cover, especially the flea medicine which can get expensive over time.

Nationwide Pet Insurance saved our holiday!

Nationwide Pet Insurance has been very easy to work with. We had a very unexpected surgery a couple days before Christmas, due to an intestinal blockage. Nationwide was quick to service our claim forms and have payment sent out. Thank you

The dogs medical insurance is better than mine.

I am so glad I decided to do this. He hasn't really had an sick visits only well visits, but it is very easy to file the claims. I have some peace of mind that if indeed something happens to our dog, we will be able to take care of him. Thank you.

more attention

I have two dogs with this insurance company. I feel as though I should be able to contact and discuss decisions being made about my account with a human being. I am not able to speak with the underwriting department. I understand that caution and time needs to be taken to review claims and requests for upgrades but attention to details or questions or some sort of discussion should be made when no diagnosis by the veterinarian has been made. However with brief reviews and certain line items creating a bell alert a suspicion should not be a reason for denial of upgrade. I am in hopes that this issue will be resolved and or discussed with me after a second review is done.

Many issues, Pet Insurance helps!

Tinkerbelle has many issues. With the help of Pet Insurance we are able to take care of her as necessary. I wish there was a policy for Medication, food, her necessary Rehab sessions and that the Max for each illness was a little higher. I always "Max Out" as far as coverage a few months after I renew my policy. Bucky will be a diabetic for 1 year in April. Meds and food are quite an expense each month. I will call occasionally for an explanation and the representative makes me feel like I'm asking for something I didn't pay for. I have been a member since VPI, about 20 years and I will again renew my policy so I can care for "my kids" with help.

I Love Embrace! — Fantastic Product and Support

Our agile and very active Australian Shepherd, Ripley, has been "Embraced" since the day she came home with us almost 4 years ago. A recent orthopedic injury reinforced why getting Embrace was the right choice for us. Ripley began limping and favoring he left foreleg back in November. Two visits to her local veterinarian for exam and x-rays did not reveal any injury causing the limp. Both these visits were covered. The real value of Ripley having a policy was when we were referred to a specialist because her limp did not go away with anti-inflammatory meds and limiting her activity. The Orthopedic veterinary specialist at the Small Animal Hospital at Auburn University performed an ultrasound and diagnosed our girl with a 50% tear of the tendon connecting the bicep muscle to the shoulder joint. He prescribed a regimen of anti-inflammatory and pain meds with very limited activity. We have since been for two follow-up visits to monitor her progress and healing. We were very happy to learn at our last visit Ripley will not be needing surgery. Throughout multiple visits to our local vet and the specialist at Auburn, plus number of prescriptions, Embrace covered us every step of the way. We never had to question taking her for a visit or whether we could afford to see a specialist. Every claim we've submitted over the past 4 months has been processed and paid promptly. The website is simple to navigate and submitting claims is easy with step-by-step prompts. The emails we get regarding our claims are in terms real people can understand and definitive have the human touch. We could not be happier with the product and services! We'll continue to be loyal "Embracers" and advocates of your pet insurance.

Fast turn around of claims

So far I have been very happy with the service. We rescued 2 greyhounds last September. They have required well care and Missy needed emergency surgery for a wound on Christmas Day.
