Do NOT HESITATE - GET THIS INSURANCE!!!

My little dog Simon needed both his lens replaced so he would be able to see again.. I called Healthypaws to see if Simon was covered [I had been told by the vet tech that Simon's problem was almost never covered by pet insurance]. They were SO nice on the phone and stated, "of course that's covered". Simon had his surgery [and now can see]. I received an email from Healthypaws after notifying me that the claim had been processed, just checking to see how Simon was feeling. I have never had ANY company, pet or people, that does exactly what they promise and then goes beyond. They really do care. I would say don't even think twice, do yourself and your pet a favor and go to Healthypaws and sign up. Oh and filing a claim is unbelievably easy. I have my vet email my invoice which I upload onto Healthypaws site, hit send and that's it.

Caring customer service

I would not be able to afford keeping my beloved cat alive without this insurance. I’m so grateful to Nationwide. Your customer service is great! I appreciate you reaching out to me by email and phone to let me know some information was missing in one of my claims. I was able to find this and submit it. Thank you. I recommend your pet insurance all the time & will continue to do so. I will always get pet insurance for any new pets in the future. The app is easy to use, as well.

Look elsewhere

We thought we were being responsible pet owners by paying $100/month to Pets Plus Us for our illness/accident policy. When our 8 month old puppy became ill, our vet bills came to almost $8000. No problem, we thought: 80% will be covered minus $100 deductible. Well, Pets Plus Us covered 0% of our bills. They found a way to exclude the claim by misconstruing the information provided by us and our vets. They didn't complete the pre-approval they said they would do so we were stuck after the fact. Their customer service is also terrible: you wait on the phone forever to speak to someone and calls and emails are often not returned.

Major medical is pretty comprehensive coverage
