Dachshund surgery
We insured our young dachshund hoping we would never need it, but when she needed back surgery for a compressed spinal cord, we were so grateful we did. Pumpkin covered the max allowed, which made the costs something we could handle, rather than financially crippling. We were able to rush her into surgery, and a month or so later, the claim was paid. When we checked in with Pumpkin with questions, we received timely responses. And, our policy recently renewed so we continue to have peace of mind if anything were to happen in the future.

The insurance sales person rushed through the information and I needed better clarification. She was a bit pushy for me to make the decision. I needed to think and call her back. The price was affordable for the insurance.

Well visit and vaccines
"We went to the vet for all vaccines and a well check visit. I received a bill and receipt but it wasn't itemized. I submitted those and was emailed that I needed a more detailed explanation of treatment. I got the itemized bill from the vet and submitted it. The claim was completed very soon after all the necessary paperwork was done. They kept me informed of necessary paperwork needs and confirmed all items were complete. I have a detailed receipt of covered and not covered items as well as reasons for things not being covered. Overall we have only had positive experiences with Pets Best and feel secure knowing we have this insurance to help keeps our fur babies healthy! Highly recommend. "
ASPCA-NOT GOOD PET INSURANCE
my dog got this pet insurance becuase my daughter has it and never had a issue from acl surgery to accidents. my dog tore her acl sometime in november 2025 and we noticed no pressure on the leg. the claim was denied because may 2025 we took the dog in for as docotr noted sore muscle. Doctor wrote a letter for a appeal telling them this is not pre-existing. Still denied. i called and was told not matter what goes on with that leg it will always be denied.

Pay astronomical premiums just to be denied on routine exams.
I have to say this is probably the worst pet insurance company I have ever dealt with. Super high monthly premiums, an app that always crashes or is unavailable, unresponsive agents, and expect all of your claims to be denied after providing every paper under the sun with the dates, totals, pets name, and the authentic Declaration of Independence. Appeal it and just be told no again for a different reason. I’m cancelling and seeking legal action.
