pre-existing condition bullshit
You told me to send medical records of the last 12 months, I sent you everything since establishing care, so 26 months, and you are claiming he has a preexisting condition and won't even cover wellness exams because he had giardia once when he was a puppy, long before the 12 month period you requested. It's as if you were to withhold insurance from a grown up because he had chickenpox when he was a child.

BEWARE HEALTHY PAWS PET INSURANCE
BEWARE HEALTHY PAWS PET INSURANCE Healthy Paws put my daughter & me through the WRINGER when she. transferred ownership of our older dog..When we thought we were DONE after signing forms & a LENGTHY phone call CONFIRMING the transfer, I submitted claims..a WEEK later I get a letter DROPPING the policy. After another LENGTHY phone call, I'm told they will put in a request to REINSTATE...All because I PUT IN CLAIMS that Healthy Paws DOESN'T WANT TO PAY! How unethical if downright illegal!!!

Premiums Up, Coverage Down, Service Worse
I had this insurance for 11 years, covering two dogs. For most of that time they were an excellent company with strong coverage, prompt claim responses, and reliable customer service. I recommended them to many new pet owners over the years. Unfortunately, over the past couple months, their service has deteriorated significantly, and I can no longer recommend them. When my policy renewed in February, they simultaneously increased the premiums, raised the deductible, and reduced the reimbursement rate. Premium increases are expected over time, but changing the core terms of a long-standing policy is extremely disappointing. On top of that, most claims now trigger requests for additional documentation, despite the fact that I have been submitting the same type of records without issue for the past 11 years. The claims process has clearly become far more difficult and burdensome. My final claim was for my dog’s euthanasia. After receiving the claim, they cancelled the policy and then requested additional information. This is after numerous previous claims related to her cancer diagnosis and treatment. They did not request additional documentation 5 months ago when my other dog was euthanized and I submitted the same documentation. Losing my last companion has been incredibly devastating. However, after this experience, ending my relationship with this company is the one small relief in an otherwise heartbreaking time.

Review
I've been a "member" since Pet First. I recommend Met Life pet insurance to my friends. I do find the claims process to be a little cumbersome, SOAP notes, etc.

We have had Healthy Paws for almost 8…
We have had Healthy Paws for almost 8 years. I don’t know what we would’ve done without them. Our lab has bad elbows and has had multiple procedures/surgeries and is on many medications. Healthy Paws always paid in a timely fashion and never argued against any of our claims. They are literally lifesavers!
