Terrible Experience
I am baffled how everyone seems to have a great experience with MetLife Pet Insurance except for my family. We've submitted all the correct documentation, even jumping through hoops to submit larger files (how are you going to require a year of SOAP notes, but none of your document submission tools support large files???), and had our claim closed due to "not providing the correct documentation." When we tried to appeal the claim, we had the exact same experience, except this time their Customer Experience team claimed we'd hear back in 1-5 days and we...never did. I'm not even sure our appeal made it into the queue. Absolutely absurdly frustrating!

Spot Pet Insurance are liars, and thieves…
Spot Pet Insurance cs agents, are nothing more than a bunch of dishonest, money grabbing thieves… I switched from my farmer’s insurance pet policy, to spot pet insurance, 6 months ago, because of the low premium cost..My Shih Tzu got an ear infection, I took him to the vet, had it treated..During the visit they suggested that he may have allergies, because he licks his paws excessively, which he doesn’t..His paw licking is an indication that he is in pain because of the ear infection..None the less, he was treated for the ear infection, and he received his annual rabies shot, during the visit..I was charged for a wellness check/ office visit..the rabies, shot, and ear infection treatment..I submitted the claim to pet insurance, the same day, along with his medical records..1 week later I received a email, notifying me that,,the claim was denied, because I had failed to send the medical records..I then made contact with them over the phone, and sent the medical records for the 2nd time, while I had the agent on the line,,she confirmed that she received the records….A week later, which is this morning at 9:00 am cst, I received a email..stating that the claim was denied..citing a pre existing condition..At this point, I am not only surprised, but also pissed..I called them up, asked them what pre existing condition caused them to deny the claim,,She said to me, in May 2022, the vet wrote in their notes, that Gabriel my Shi Tzu, had allergies..I said to her I have lived with him for 4 yrs since that visit, we go to the vet for scheduled wellness checks, and him possibly having allergies has never been mentioned again, in 4 yrs..I mentioned to her that, This is Gabriel’s 1st ear infection in the 5 yrs that I have had him, and that my claim was for the ear infection, the office visit, and the rabies shot…nothing else..In the end they denied the claim, and their reason for the denying it, was for Something that was not mentioned, or listed on the invoice..These people are liars, scammers, and is only out to take your money, they provide you with with a false since of security, through offering you low preniums and low deductibles …But in reality, they have no intention on paying any claims..For those of you on here, that are exciting about the cheap premiums...,It’s nothing more than their predatory marketing strategy..designed to steal from you….Don’t Fall For It.. Cancel your policies today, and get a policy thru a reputable company..Spot Insurance should be named…Spit Insurance, as they lie, cheat, steal, and spit in your face, with no hesitation

A Huge Relief When We Needed It Most
Trupanion has been a huge relief for us during a very stressful time with our cat, Rocky. He needed several tests, and the costs could have added up quickly. Having Trupanion cover most of those expenses took a significant financial burden off our shoulders and allowed us to focus on his care instead of worrying about the bills. The process was smooth, and knowing we had that support in place gave us real peace of mind. We’re very grateful and would highly recommend Trupanion to other pet owners.

Please stay away from this company. They do not care about your pets, and they are not there when you need them most. I am writing this to report what I believe to be an improper denial of a valid insurance claim and a failure to adhere to the terms of the policy. My dog, Mila, was diagnosed with advanced periodontal disease, which progressed to tooth root damage, infection, and a fractured jaw with involvement of the nasal cavity (oronasal communication). As a result of this condition, she required emergency surgical treatment, including dental extractions, treatment of infection, and stabilization of the jaw. The treating veterinarian, Bremen Animal Hospital LTD, documented that this condition and the procedures performed were medically necessary and required immediate intervention. Without treatment, the condition would have caused ongoing severe pain, inability to eat, and risk of further complications, including systemic infection. I submitted a claim under my Platinum plan with additional wellness coverage for reimbursement of approximately $1,788.00 in veterinary expenses. This claim was denied in full. Based on the policy coverage for accidents and illnesses, this condition and the resulting treatment fall within covered events. The diagnosis was not the result of neglect, and the treatment was not elective or preventative—it was necessary medical intervention for a covered condition. The denial of this claim appears to be inconsistent with the stated terms and intent of the policy. I am requesting a formal review and reversal of the claim denial, with reimbursement of eligible expenses in accordance with the policy. I also request a clear, written explanation citing the specific policy provisions used to justify the denial. Consumers should be aware of how this company handles claims, especially in urgent medical situations where coverage is expected but not honored.

Horrible!
I recently went through one of the most terrifying and stressful situations and had the misfortune of having Pets Best as my insurance company. First, they took well over a month to even confirm if they would approve or deny my claim. Which, in the instance of finding out my dog had cancer I did not have the luxury of waiting. I needed to move quickly on to the next steps of seeing specialists and get a treatment plan going. I have insurance to be responsible and elevate these stressful situations, but they did nothing but add to them. I was meeting with specialist and going over plans all with the added stress of wondering if this will be approved or denied. I finally find out that I was denied bases on "pre-existing condition". How can this be a pre-existing condition if he has never had cancer, and he has never been seen for "cancer like symptoms"?! Then when you call to speak with someone about the claim they give you no information other than you can appeal. I have never dealt with an insurance company that was so inefficient and untrustworthy. My previous insurance was quick, efficient, and easy to deal with. I would have stayed with them if they did not discontinue my plan in my state. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!
