The sheer number of phone calls it took…
The sheer number of phone calls it took for me to get this minor claim paid was insane. I lost count. They requested documents and when submitted, I had to follow up mulitiple times to get the claim reopened 10/19 to 1/22 before I finally got an approval. I am an insurance agent, and as a matter of fact I SELL Pets Best. Maybe not anymore

Terrible service and deceptive practice
Terrible service and practice overall. I actually used to have another pet insurance provider who I will definitely go back to after my countless horrific experience with PetsBest. First, this company is borderline scam. They don't cover anything and the coverage vs cost is outrageous. Don't fall for it, because if you think you'll be covered for the most obvious things, you won't. And, it takes weeks for them to process it only to tell you it's not covered. I had a kitten who had digestive issues, starting with parasites in his stool. Since the kitten had diarrhea, I immediately took him to the vet who ran a bunch of tests to confirm that he had a parasite. Note that this was before the 14 day wait period was over, so I knew that this would not be covered by insurance. Post that parasite issue being resolved, the kitten still had periodic digestive issues, which were determine to be unrelated to the parasite. PetsBest basically flags every issue with digestive things for this cat to be "pre-existing" and will not cover a single dollar, even if the problem had nothing to do with the parasite. I recently purchased a second kitten and created a second coverage plan for him. Unfortunately, I failed to select the option to add the wellness plan, and so I tried calling to add that to the plan within 30 days of creating the plan. I was on hold for over 45 minutes one 3 different occasions before I was finally able to get a hold of someone. That rep told me that they would add the wellness plan and that the claim I had filed before this call would be fine, and that they would retroactively apply the wellness coverage to it. Weeks go by and they denied my claim, saying that I do not have the wellness plan. After calling and being on hold for 20 minutes, I finally get a different rep who tells me that "normally, we would allow for the wellness plan to be added if it's within 30 days of creating the plan. However, since you filed a claim, we can't do that and you need to wait until Dec 2026 (11 months from now) to add it." This was completely different from the previous rep who essentially lied to me or had no clue what they were saying. Not only that, no one ever told me that this was not added to my plan, and their app is so horrible that it's impossible to figure out. Needless to say, after spending thousand of dollars and getting absolutely nothing but frustration from this fraudulent service, I will be taking all four of my plans elsewhere. I hope I can influence others to not be a part of this scam service.

not much is actually covered. multiple requests for paperwork and long processing time. the website has errors when uploading. the chat function doesn't actually work because the help desk is understaffed which also means it takes forever to get through to someone when calling customer support. we're in the process of switching insurers.
