Christmas UTI
Woke up Christmas eve to my dog Chloe having an UTI. I called and got her seen that morning. $417 later she was on the mend. I filed my claim on 01/05/2026. On 01/16/2026, Pets Best notified there was an issue with my attachment. I corrected it and it was approved on 01/29/2026. It was processed and paid on 02/04/2026. One item was not covered but the remaining 90% was. Just in time to pay those holiday bills!
Quick, Easy Claim Process
My dog was previously with 24 Pet Watch for 8 years and recently switched over to Hartville. Our experience so far has been great. Yes, my premium increased quite a bit as I've seen others comment on in their reviews, but my dog has some chronic health issues, so the annual policy limit is still very much worth the premium increase since her health issues are pretty unpredictable. Submitting a claim is super easy, and my experience has been that processing time has been right around a week, and the direct deposit for reimbursement is very smooth. I'm very thankful for that!

Hi Melissa, did you do anything in particular to submit a claim and be reimbursed? I’ve been fighting with Hartville for a month, submitting rounds of documents through the vet and personally, and they keep saying they haven’t received enough information. I never had an issue with claims with Nationwide but they got too expensive.
Very Easy Process
"All I did was submit the bill/progress note in the app. Very easy. In the past, other coverage I had - it was too complicated. This was great. Turn around time for payment was excellent."
Highly recommend …
Healthy Paws has been invaluable in my boy’s cancer journey. The claims are processed and paid within 2-3 days. Highly recommend.

I am very grateful
I am very grateful. It’s been a very stressful time dealing with the unexpected health issues with my pup. And I am so impressed at how easy and straightforward this process was. After a crazy expensive unplanned situation, getting great support and reimbursement right away was so appreciated. I’m sharing your praises everywhere!

Embrace pet insurance was fine until…
Embrace pet insurance was fine until the last two years. We only made 2 claims for our yellow lab who is 12 years old. ($450, $1001). We expected that his insurance would increase but the amount is incredible. $550 a month. Now, it might be that I contacted the BBB last year when it increased from approximately $225 to $400. -I was able to reduce it to $342 but gave up the percentage of reimbursement and the lifetime amount.- This year it increased to $550 a month. My dog is dying from splenic tumor and a mass tumor that is slowly bleeding his life away. To operate would be $7000-$8000 and no guarantee he would survive. It was a hard choice but we chose palliative care and to keep him as comfortable as possible. However, an increase to $550 a month would cost us $6,600 yearly. The hypocrisy of this insurance Co and probably others, is definitely a form of usury. I will be contact the CFPB- even though it is a shadow of its former self

Doesn’t cover ANYTHING
My cat had emergency surgery. I submitted a claim and they said it was pre-existing. I went back to the vet and they gave their notes listing why the surgery was definitely not for a pre-existing condition. It was for a foreign body exploratory abdominal. MetLife denied the appeal! I was told my only other option was paying $85 PER HOUR for a third party review of the claim. This insurance is TERRIBLE!!! DO NOT GET THIS INSURANCE ! It is a scam, I got this insurance so I could be with a peace of mind and get my pet the surgical care he needed. I was told by the vet that night that he could die without this surgery. I have no idea what I’m paying for at this point if it doesn’t cover ANYTHING during times of emergency.

Excellent pet insurance
I love that I get to choose what I want my monthly payment to be and my deductible and my max per year. Spot has always paid for my pups medical bills and it has been a lifesaver.

Enhance bait and switch tactics are bad business
Prior to taking out a 70% coverage policy on my dog a spoke to customer service to ask if my Labrador would be covered for a chipped molar. I was told that dental care is covered . I also inquired about annual booster vaccination coverage and told yes it’s covered. I started the plan in October 2025. In a follow up vet visit I scheduled a tooth extraction for 6 weeks later. I submitted the claim through the app and was told it would take about 30 days to process the claim . I now find out that even though I made embrace aware of this chipped tooth;they now say since it was a pre-condition it’s not covered. Just the exact opposite of what I was told to induce me into providing my credit card for the monthly payments . Now 4 months into the plan I find it’s not covered .
