Stealth modification to PDS

Be very careful, looks like in the last 12-18months they added under exclusions any open heart surgery, including valve repairs or replacements etc… see page 17 of the Hollard issued policy PDS. This was never in their policy and was not advertised as a change but suddenly been sneaked into their PDS in the past 12-18months. This is atrocious practice, I don’t mind paying the higher prices seeing my insurance increased from $66per month to almost double in 5yrs but to then go an reduce the cover in a stealthy fashion… for one of the key treatment areas as dogs get older. This is extremely poor practice, I would ask they reconsider and remove this newly added exclusion. Hopefully I get a real reply from their customer service and not an AI generated generic response but a real response addressing why this was added to the PDS by stealth around 12-18mths ago. Wait for the generic, insurance is complex… call us for assistance templated reply. Let’s see.

Metlife Never Process Full Claim

Metlife really sucks. Never process full claim. I used Nationwide previously and never had any problem. Switching again

Figo Pet insurance is terrible

Figo Pet insurance rejected my claim and classified the vet office visit for a limping dog as ‘non veterinary services’ I have appealed. This will be my second appeal this year, I think they just reject every claim and hope you won’t appeal. My first appeal (2/26) was because my puppy wellness visit included talk about golden retriever allergies, then 6 months later, when he was 8 months old, and I brought him in with an ear infection, they claimed he had pre existing allergy condition. A dog that has never had an allergy problem, they also told me I would never get allergies covered for him ever again. Nice. I can wait to look for new insurance!

Quick decision

Quick decision. I understand that the office visit is not covered; however, I wouldn't need to take my pet in were it not for the urgent care she needed. This is inconsistent with the purpose. You can't avoid the office visit charge for any urgent care situation.

Would Shout About Pet’s Best from the Rooftops. (But that might be trespassing?)

Pet’s Best is absolutely wonderful to work with. From routine exams to an unexpected knee surgery, the sometime stresses of caring for my best boy have never come from Pet’s Best. They have reviewed, processed, and turned around claims timely and with fantastic clarity. I often remark to my husband: “I wish human insurance was as easy and reliable as our dog’s.” Perhaps, sad— but totally true. This insurance is worth every penny. —And if Pet’s Best ever needs a real life testimonial for a commercial, I’m down in heartbeat.

I moved 9 months ago

I moved 9 months ago. Just realized I hadn’t updated my address. Had to submit claims because my cats went to the emergency vet. To update my address restarts my deductible which I just met last week. So now if they have to go again in the next year I have to pay another 250 for updating my address? I don’t think that’s right. Everyone I talk to says it’s not right. I don’t understand why that would start over my deductible. I get charging me more for where I moved based off zones or whatever. I’ll be charged $3 more per month. But why start my deductible over? Makes zero sense to me. The guy on the phone had no real answer for me. When transferred to customer service all they said I can do is send an email. What’s the point of having phone customer service then. Or forwarding me to them? Ridiculous

Because you are true to the policy

Because you are true to the policy, no hassles, and you process the bills and pay the hospital within minutes, which allows me to pay the remainder of the bill on site before I leave. Very convenient! Milo has Cushing’s syndrome, which requires lots of blood diagnostics and medication for the remainder of his life. Trupanion will cover 90% of all costs related to this disease. I’m thankful and happy that I have Trupanion, and will recommend to others. Best, John Nacke and Milo, the Maltese.
