I mailed my claim from Ottawa to Vancouver and about 2 weeks later if that long I got the payment Everyone i spoke to were so very nice and helpful

A long relationship, many struggles
When I first got pet insurance, every claim was a struggle- sending in the forms and waiting, the vet sending in medical records over and over again only to hear from trupanion that their fax was broken. It got easier after a few years, and then they started changing the policy and denying coverage of medications to treat GI parasites. 🙄 Rates slowly rose and my pet became older and needed more care, so we stayed. Policy changes happened, and yet we stayed. The biggest red flag was when someone told me that they had called Trupanion and were able to tell me how much I paid for my policy 😲 The Trupanion rep had had no qualms about releasing info about my account to someone and when I brought it up with Trupanion they said they were looking into it, then crickets. When my pet passed, at 12yrs old they strung along the final few claims and when I got the payout letters, some of them had absurd claims for SPLEEN ENLARGEMENT when in reality it was diabetic syringes purchased at the pharmacy. They didn't even cover the cremation. I won't be purchasing or recommending Trupanion to anyone.

Very happy with Trupanion!
I would definitely recommend Trupanion to my friends and family. Trupanion is so reliable and trustworthy. I never really thought of my pet having serious problems but still went ahead and got insurance coverage with Trupanion. I'm very glad I did. It's very easy to make claims but since my vet hospital is directly invovled with Trupanion, they can file a claim on my behalf which makes it even better for me. No worries, no issues and 100 percent reliable service. It's a peace of mind having Trupanion.

A must have!
We have not had any issues yet, so far tremendous experience knowing our loved one is looked after. It takes a lot of stress off knowing we have insurance. I was a bit surprised on the first claim to get an email our insurance went up. Hoping in a years time cost doesnât sky rocket.
