Amazing pet insurance
We have had MetLife pet insurance since our dog was a pup and they have always taken great care of us. Their claim service is so easy and communication is always there if we ever have questions. Highly recommend

Heartbreaking rigidity and poor customer service...
For years, I've been paying nearly $200/month for my older dog. I've never filed a claim once. In July, she suddenly needed serious dental work (a lot to process financially and emotionally). I'm 9 months pregnant, working full-time, and have been juggling a lot. Yesterday, I sat down to formally file the claim. That's when I learned the window closed 2 weeks ago. I had no idea there even was a claim window---apparently this is only after a policy renews. The rep told me my renewal was 6 days after the procedure (seriously, just 6 days!). For that reason, the window kicked in and they won't even consider the claim. Had the emergency happened a week later, there'd be no issues, which is a reality I'm struggling to wrap my head around. I can't begin to describe how disappointed I am with Embrace, or how stupid I feel for giving them so much money over the past few years... The policy doesn't cover preventive care (I have to pay *another* plan for that), only emergencies; so, now that I'm finally facing one, I can't believe Embrace won't consider reviewing it given how close it was to the renewal... This is an unfathomably profitable company. I'm not sure how a business taking in *so much money* from its customers won't even offer an appeals process. There's nothing patient- or client-centered about Embrace. If you're in the unfortunate position of working with them, please do yourself a favor and (1) read through every fine line of your policy, (2) set calendar reminders for policy renewals, and (3) file all claims immediately. Embrace's policies and procedures are designed to make reimbursement as challenging as possible.

Life saver
Two years ago today, I found out my little man had a tumor on his heart that was leaking fluid. I thought my days were numbered with him. Since then, he’s had 3 heart surgeries, a round of radiation, chemo, a tumor removed on his leg, hypertension, blood clots on his lungs, a late night seizure which resulted in a tumor on his brain, another round of radiation and chemo. He’s on countless meds and gets scans every 8 weeks. The silver lining is he’s still here! Going strong! He wouldn’t be here without pet insurance! They have not questioned one thing. I preach all the time, if you love your pets, get pet insurance. 🥰

Unbelievably Quick No-Hassle Service
I got my dog Healthy Paws Pet insurance since he was a wee pup. Didn’t think I’d be really using it since it doesn’t cover preventive visits and vet fees. But through the years, when my dog has had health problems, Healthy Paws has consistently made things a lot more bearable (financially). It’s very straightforward - as soon as you hit your $250 deductible, all expenses, save for vet fees, get reimbursed at 80%. Just like recently, I uploaded my invoice on site same day we visited vet (no forms to fill out), got email status updates, by evening it’s approved, and next morning it’s already a pending deposit in my bank. Honestly, I’ve hardly had to talk to their CS because it’s so simple, save for first time I used them, where I had to verify what would be covered before I agreed with procedure. So what I compute will be covered is exactly what gets approved. Also, I forgot about filing my claims last year, and they let me file it this year and got reimbursed. And a $250 deductible isnt really a lot because just 1 sick visit could easily be that, if not more. So highly recommend Healthy Paws. Even my husband is so amazed how quickly they process and reimburse.

high cost
Each year, the insurance rate increases substantially to the point where I may not be able to afford it. I know I do not get as much back in reimbursement as the insurance cost me, but I am seriously considering just putting the payments into a savings account so if she does need more expensive procedures, I will have the money to pay it. I pay insurance for myself, which does not increase with my age as hers does, so would like to continue to insure my pet, but am not sure I can afford that.
