Great Pet Insurance

The Pets Best website is very easy to navigate and submitting a claim is very easy. My claims are ALWAYS processed very quickly. I highly recommend this insurance to pet parents.

Maybe best for pets, but not for their owners

My pet has been with Pets Best since 2020, and if I could go back in time to choose a different insurance company, I would. Unfortunately for me, my pet has conditions now that would be considered "pre-existing" to other insurance companies, and therefore would not be covered. So I'm stuck. Anyways, my main issues with Pet's Best are: 1) Historically speaking, their claim processing is so, so incredibly slow. The average wait time to hear back from a claim would be 3-5 weeks, with a strong likeliness towards the end of that range. 2) They go through incredulous lengths to prevent you from meeting your deductible. What I mean by this is that they actually apply your co-pays BEFORE you meet your deductible. So let's say your deductible is $200 and your reimbursement is 70%, your plan covers your event and the bill is $175. You would think since that event is applicable, that $175 would be applied to the $200, leaving you with $25 left in your deductible. Simple, right? Nope. With Pet's Best, they will calculate your co-pays rates on that $175, as if your deductible was already met. So that $175 you thought was going towards your deductible is actually just $122.50 (70% (reimbursement rate * $175 (covered event) ). When I shopped around with other insurance companies, because I was dissatisfied with Pets Best, the reps I would talk to were actually surprised by this policy. I give them two stars because they have decently competitive rates, and the claim process is easy.

Reimbursed as Expected

I had just got a new puppy, did my due diligence, reviewed several pet insurance carriers and decided Fetch provided the best for me and my budget. As required I submitted all her records including an initial vet check for overall health. A month after I got her she got her back leg caught in a chain link gate and broke her tibia growth plate. I submitted all the required documentation and approximately three weeks later received the expected compensation (less $300 deductible and 20% not covered). About six weeks later she went for her follow up X-ray and check up. I submitted the paperwork and as it was to an existing claim, reimbursement only took a few days. Overall, they paid out $6,000 without any hassle. Highly recommend.

Trustworthy, but not Speedy Any Longer

They have most generally covered all of my claims even when many of those were expensive, and I can't fault them on that. I rest assured that they will uphold the terms of their contract honorably. They are however MUCH SLOWER in doing so now than they were 5 years ago. Where claims were once processed in 5-10 days, customers now generally wait more than 5 weeks to get refunded for the money they paid the vet. During a recession when budgets are tight, that extra time could cost a pet its life if bills come in one after the other and a pet is ill. Five years ago when that happened, Pets Best was able to "expedite" bill processing in such an emergency situation, but it would seem that this is just no longer an option for them, and that is sad.

We have a new black lab puppy

We have a new black lab puppy, Mischief, and that is why I signed up for Spot Pet Insurance. I have now submitted 4 claims. One has been processed and the other three are in the works. The claims process is easy and friendly to use. So far, I have very much enjoyed working with Spot Pet Insurance.

I really like Spot Pet Insurance.

I really like Spot Pet Insurance; it helped us a lot, after our great Dane got sick, and we used a lot of money on vet bills. The only think they don't get 5 stars is because it takes some time to get the money back.
