First clam submitted,,, They refused to pay... My dog has CKD which no "routine" visit or dental care would have detected but was a sufficient loophole to disqualify payment. Frankly I am not surprised, unfortunately these fly by night companies feed on trusting customers not reading the fine print... buyer be ware.

I had asked my Veterinarian’s Office…
I had asked my Veterinarian Office Staff if they had any good or bad experiences with any of the dog insurance companies. I then went on line for two that were suggested and evaluated them to compare the ten I had contacted yesterday. I felt that Trupanion was the best for my new puppy. The very nice agent I spoke with at Trupanion was knowledgeable, gave precise information about his company and comparisons with other companies offerings. If I knew I was going to be asked to write a review, I would have written the agents name down. He was a five star agent!

The process in obtaining the plan was very easy and the policy coverage itself was very well explained ... our first experience in submitting a claim went through with no issue(s) and the explanation of benefits and reimbursement were timely and fell in line as described per the policy.

They denied my very first claim by lumping it onto the fact that the vet gave her a supplement. Claimed the condition was pre existing and this was literally the first time she’s been seen for the condition!!! I’m done!!! Very disappointed.

make sure you know what you are buying
When i signed up for pet Insurance i was led to believe that the premium i was paying included wellness. I took my dog to the vet to check on some discharge in her eyes and i was given some drops and the eyes cleared up. I then made a claim to Pets Best and nothing on the claim was covered not a single penny. I guess you have to have your dog hit by a car to be able to make a claim that is processed. Lousy customer service. When i called the person was unapologetic like i was an idiot to assume that any of my dog's bill would ever be taken care of. I canceled right away and now have pet insurance with Spot and wellness is included for almost the same price i had been paying Pets Best for a couple of years. Make sure you ask and get it in writing before you sign up.
