HUGE WASTE OF MONEY - Buyer Beware
PetsBest Insurance is the worst pet company I’ve ever dealt with. They take forever to process a claim stating they are busy with an influx of claims. In my experience with the several claims I have filed, the lengthy time they take to review my claim is solely used to do their very best to collect any info that might disqualify my claim. My initial claim sat for 3 weeks with no attention. I called several times and was told they had all the info to process my claim. On my final call regarding this particular claim, I was notified that no one has been working on my claim and after 3 weeks and still, no one had contacted my vet for medical records. I filed a wellness claim that got incorrectly processed as an “illness” claim (twice) under which the services I received were not covered by my medical policy, but were covered almost entirely under my wellness plan (which is of course an additional monthly charge). I called PetsBest and emphasized it was a wellness claim and the claim AND vet records both reflected that fact. The agent helping me said he would make a note about the wellness claim to ensure it would be processed correctly. However, when I was eventually notified of the resolution of these two incorrectly processed claims (since they were YET AGAIN) processed as an illness instead of wellness I did not receive any reimbursement for the visit. Once again I had to resubmit the vet records clarifying that it is a wellness claim NOT an illness. For my wellness claim to be processed (3 months after the visit and original claim submission) the co then stated they needed an itemized bill of the wellness visit in order to process the claim correctly. When I called the vet to request this info the receptionist said she has never had an insurance company request something like that and she doesn’t understand why the insurance co is being so difficult. My final claim was partially paid out but of course, all the money went back to PetsBest to be paid against my deductible. I’ve spent over $480 on monthly insurance payments in the course of 3 months. In that time, I’ve spent over $1,000 in veterinary services that were almost all denied reimbursement for. Using PetsBest insurance was a HUGE waste of time and money as the only payout they approved went to my deductible so that’s more money I wasted on for the insurance co to take forever just to do basically nothing. Every agent I spoke to told me different info and they say they’ll call you and update you but no one ever does. BUYER BEWARE!! Overpriced and underserved.

So Far - So Good
After spending tens of thousands of dollars on orthopedic fixes for an old Doberman years ago, we get all of our dogs covered by insurance as soon as they're eligible as young puppies. This minimizes the risk of any problem being denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition as the dogs age. Embrace has been our go-to pet insurer for almost 20 years. One of our current pack - an almost 6 year old Frenchie was diagnosed with an awful form of encephalitis at 2 years. With care from an amazing neurologist and a little chemo every month, this dog is blind in one eye but otherwise is a spunky troublemaker that loves to play and walk. Except for a once/year $750 deductible and a 20% copay, Embrace covers all of this dogs treatment, reimburses promptly, and has been a life saver...literally. Don't delay getting coverage and strongly consider Embrace. The Embrace team has been an unwavering partner through our dog's bumpy journey.

Always a great company to work with
Always a great company to work with. I would recommend getting your pet insurance wether it’s Pets Best or another. I had another pet insurance but it did not cover nearly as much as Pets Best that’s why I switched.

Healthy Paws is an excellent insurance for your fur baby!
Healthy Paws is an excellent insurance company that provides reasonable insurance policies and great coverage for our dog Bailey. We have had a policy for our dog since we adopted her (Bailey) in 2016. Unfortunately she has been through 3 surgeries for cancer and HealthyPaws process for filing claims is easy and efficient. HealthyPaws always reaches out after a major procedure and asks how Bailey is recovering. Pricing is reasonable and even as our dog has aged the policy pricing does increase but nothing drastic; always reasonable. I recommend HealthyPaws! Best investment we have made to help us provide for Bailey.

HEALTH INSURER DOESNT PAY THE VET REALLY?
OMG! How dare a so called HEALTH INSURER not pay the doctor/ Veterinarian visit fee!! THe first thing you should do if you love your pet is run to your vet if your loved one is sick...Your child should go to the doctor. A company that discourages you from doing so cant possibly have your pets welfare in mind! Logical right? Many people struggle to pay health insurance premiums and dont have extra money to pay a vet. SO the pet doesnt go to the vet and Healthy Paws doesnt pay. GO FIGURE! Also Healthy Paws was sued on a class action basis. Once your pet has a PREEXISTING condition youre stuck. Healthy Paws raises rates...BOOM. If you love your pet...RUN AWAY DONT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY!!

Dave, We're sorry that you were not satisfied with your plan. We do our best to be transparent throughout our website, during the enrollment process and in the plan documents available to each client in their online Healthy Paws account regarding the limited exclusions of our plan. Those exclusions are pre-existing conditions, preventative/routine care and the office visit fee (vet exam, emergency exam, recheck or consultation). Anyone visiting our website can see this information on our “Benefits, Coverage and Exclusions” page. By making the office visit fee (vet exam, emergency exam, recheck or consultation) part of the pet parent's financial responsibility, it allows us to offer a complete accident and illness plan.at an affordable monthly premium.
Nationwide
I have had Nationwide Ins since 2017 when I adopted my little girl. She has had many claims. They are prompt, helpful and so easy to deal with. It has been a great experience.
