Healthy Paws saved my dogs life...
My dog started having trouble breathing so we took her to our local pet ER. After tests, xrays, and an ultraound, they diagnosed her with pyothorax (fluid in her chest cavity). We transferred her to another vet that could do a CT scan then her surgery. After surgery, she was in the ICU for 10 days with a chest tube then another 2 days after the tube was removed, a total of 12 days. The total discharge bill was $20k plus a $5k ER bill. The plan we have has a $500 yearly deductible then 90% plan paid/10% customer paid. Our total out of pocket ended up being around $3k out of the $25k total bill. They saved her life because there was no way we would’ve been able to afford it without knowing we’d be reimbursed. And they made the reimbursement process so easy. They called the vet and got the confirmation they needed and I got a direct deposit a few days later. Thank you so much Healthy Paws!

Many Thanks
On my 21st I had to report to Pets Best that I had to take my baby girl Muffin (cat) to an emergency Pet center and she did not make it. I received promptly a card from them and they told me I could file a final Insurance claim. This I did but many final costs were not covered. I did receive some compensation which helped some and I thank Pet's Best for their support.

Be careful of pre-existing condition exclusions
While the claim submission process was pretty easy and communication was clear, I was extremely disappointed to learn that one of our claims was denied because they deemed a symptom that can occur in subsequent illnesses/episodes to be a pre-existing condition. So because our puppy had diarrhea when he first came to us (like most new puppies do), any illness with diarrhea as a presenting symptom is now being denied as pre-existing. Convenient way of getting out of paying for claims.

Great Support!
My Lab recently had surgery for neutering and at the same time, the Dr removed a cyst on his paw that would not go away with standard medication and care. The cyst removal was considered a surgical procedure as well and while the neutering wasn't covered under my policy (standard in the industry), I submitted a claim for the cyst portion of the bill and Lemonade covered the entire amount less my deductible. Lemonade was great to work with and there was no going back and forth. In fact, they didn't ask for any additional information from what I originally provided. Great support and thank you Lemondade!
