I purchased pet insurance with Pumpkin…
I purchased pet insurance with Pumpkin on 2/16/2023. I had an issue where my dog would not eat on 3/2/2022 and took her to the ER. I filed a claim with pumpkin and they denied it. Their reason stated was for a pre-existing condition. How not eating is a pre-existing condition blew my mind. They also said they needed vaccination records for 12/2022 when she was vaccinated on 11/2022. All they did was try to find a reason to deny my claim. I wouldn’t recommend anyone purchase pet insurance at Pumpkin. Will they use this situation to call everything a pre-existing condition now.

Everything was fine and easy to understand. Except when it came to breed. We have mini Aussie doodles. I could not enter this. Had to call you to find out what to enter. Ended up entering miniature Australian Shepard mix.

Excellent customer service
We've had the policy for almost 9 years (previously with another company), and just recently had to put our old man down. Pets Plus Us was great over the years. We've never had anything denied that shouldn't have been. On the contrary, they covered things we were warned might not be. Anytime I had to call in and speak to someone with a question, I found them very pleasant and helpful. 10/10 recommend, and we will get a policy with them again when we get another dog.

My dog had surgery. Well past the waiting period and all medical records sent in twice. A month before they came back and asked for the same records again. Would NOT recommend this company

Josh, We're sorry you baby had to have surgery. All claim decisions are based on your pet’s medical records. Medical records for your pet include doctor's notes, laboratory results, and other documentation regarding any of your pet's visits to the veterinarian. These notes are kept by your veterinarian and are not typically sent home with you. Most pet insurance companies including Healthy Paws use a pet's medical records to determine if there are any pre-existing conditions that would keep us from approving a claim. Unfortunately, the records sent by your veterinarian were for your other pet enrolled with us. Outcome Great for Reimbursement on Alessandra's Claim
Met Life is great and will make adjustments to the claim based upon the Vet's report. They are a great company and I am glad that I have them for Alessandra's health care coverage.
