Extremely Expensive
Received an email today from Trupanion stating that they’re increasing our monthly premium by over $23 due to inflation. Trupanion is already significantly more expensive than other insurance quotes we received but we signed up for coverage because they will pay our vet directly. We have not filed any claims, our dog has been healthy, and we have paid on time every month. Trupanion has already offered minimum coverage compared to other plans and has not mentioned any plans to extend coverage or improve their service and I don’t see a justifying factor for such a significant increase in the premium. Trupanion went on in their email to state that they don’t increase premiums due to a dogs age but then it would be rather convenient that the premium increase was sent 4 days after our dog turned 1 and the day after we already paid the monthly premium. I had heard from many others that this is a common occurrence from trupanion and I could understand maybe a $5 increase per month but $23 per month is ridiculous and insane and we are very unhappy with trupanion.

The service has been incredible
The service has been incredible, above and beyond. They literally sent my dog a gotcha day present. They have paid all our claims without fight. Our premium remained reasonable even though our dog proved expensive. I'm very happy.

I had a little bit of trouble getting…
I had a little bit of trouble getting my claim approved for over four weeks. I reached out to Customer Service to cancel my policy, when I talked to a lovely person named Anne. She saved my business, as she reached out to all my vets to get the records to submit. She continued to try endlessly with contacting these clinics and she prevailed. My claims were approved and I'll continue to use Fetch now. Their customer service skills go above and beyond. Would absolutely recommend.

Hiked fees WITHIN first year!
They tried to increase our premium by almost 30% before our first year was finished. They blamed inflation. Additionally we took our dog to the vet because it looked like he had itchy ears - the vet found nothing wrong, but because we ASKED it became an umbrella pre-existing condition and so all ear/eye issues would be denied coverage going forward.
