Obtaining Insurance only
I can only comment on obtaining the insurance as I have not had to use it. But the process is exceptional and personal.

Every Bit Worth The Money
Seriously, an A++ experience. And no, I'm not a robot or a shill. We had Healthy Paws before MetLife and they were awesome too! But MetLife was cheaper through my new employer so we switched. But they aren't A++ because they're cheaper. It's everything else. They reimburse quickly using Zelle which is awesome. When I forgot to upload SOAP notes they contacted my vet for them instead of just declining the claim. They're timely and they don't not-pick to get out of payment. A very fair company! Plus they have bereavement care in their policies which no other provider I've seen has. Very well thought through company and worth the price.

Best Insurance for your dog!!!!
I reviewed options and cost for MANY pet insurances, even had one of the popular ones which cost 5$ more per month with almost no benefits other than emergency surgeries. This is the very best for the cost and the covered expenses. Wait time is next to nothing, and submission for claims is the easiest I have ever seen.

Two stars only because 1 of the 3 people I dealt with was a quality experience
My first call for a claim while in USA was never reported despite the fact I was told to wait for a call. I finally called again to discover that no claim was made and I need to pay out of pocket when I am out of the country. Fine, but would have been nice to know 72 hours earlier as I made it clear I was on vacation and wasting days and 150 dollars a night on hotels, along with the hotel I already had booked but not at yet. I explained all of this along with my frustration to the lady on my second call to which her only explanation was " ya it's a different team on the weekends" extremely unprofessional. When I finally did get assigned an adjuster, she was kind and nice but after the initial call, She wouldn't return a voicemail of which I left two over a three day period. She responded with a very unclear exchange of two emails. I left her another voicemail stating I needed clarification and had further questions. I still have not had that call returned.

Nationwide Pet Insurance disappoints when with rates of reimbursement and limitations for specific diagnosis
When it comes down to it and your pet is diagnosed with cancer you hope to have coverage for adequate diagnosis and treatment The benefit reimbursement for this insurance is very low and completely out of touch with the current market. It did not even fully cover the cost of a biopsy and CT scan and I was out of benefits for cancer until my next benefit year. Needless to say my dog will likely not live to see the next benefit year commence. Only their top tier policy may be worth while. None of my pets qualified to upgrade to that policy when it was introduced as they had pre-existing conditions meaning claims had already been filed . This company was VPI years ago and was wonderful. Nationwide took over and it’s awful.
