Ashley was awesome!!

I spoke with Ashley to get my new puppy added to my current dog’s policy. She was professional, kind, listened to what I was needing and knowledgeable of the policy guidelines and the extras that I was interested in purchasing on the policy. I love AKC pet insurance and their customer service!

Terribly Difficult

If you submit an accident or illness claim, they make it terribly difficult to get it approved. They will request for all previous vet records, which is fair, but if they don't understand them in the slightest they will tell you that there are parts "missing" and they will be closing your claim. You'll then have to argue that things are not missing, and they'll simply reopen it. After that, if there is you're filing anything even remotely related to what your animal has experienced before, they will deny you. Your cat chipped a tooth in the past and now has problems with their gums? Pre-existing condition: denied. Your dog broke their back leg and now they broke their front leg? Pre-existing condition: denied. On top of that, they say that "if your animal goes 18 months without being seen or experiencing symptoms of a condition, it will be removed from the list of not-cover conditions". That's a lie, they don't do that. I'm still being denied claims despite it being years since certain conditions. Don't waist your time

It’s hard to put into words how a company serves its customers, especially when communicating is difficult and time consuming. The employees were very friendly, but hampered by electronic glitches and time constraints. I appealed a decision not to deny my dogs treatment twice and they did finally reimburse me for the services to which I am grateful. There must be a better way to apply and process applications. Thank you very much for the opportunity to speak.

Great and timely service

Recently had a very expensive situation with my little dog. Er surgery and 4 days in the hospital, you can imagine the bill. I sent it right over to Embrace and was refunded a significant amount of the bill. I am so grateful that i was smart enough to get insurance. If you are on the fence about getting this, in telling you to go for it

Online cancellation is a lie.

We received a pet insurance premium increase letter in May 2024 that doubled the premium for our two bunnies. Naturally, that's a deal breaker for anyone and we went to cancel online, since that's a feature they offer. We canceled about a week or two before the renewal date. However, apparently you CAN'T CANCEL ONLINE, despite them having that function, as we still got charged. You have to CALL to cancel, apparently, and now we have to pay a pro-rated amount for insurance we never intended to use, because we got no confirmation or notice of our cancellation request being denied or not even going through. We only found out after the fact and when we reviewed our finances to find they snuck in that charge. You can't even delete your payment information online to prevent that from happening. Utterly abusive consumer experience and I'll NEVER use Nationwide again.
