Healthy Paws pet insurance – so glad we got it!
We're so glad we elected for pet insurance through Healthy Paws a few years back. Claims are easy to submit, customer service has been wonderful, and checks for the four or five reimbursements we've received to date have arrived within a week of submitting the claim. Above all, we've saved immensely. Our dog had to have unexpected knee surgery last month that cost several thousand dollars; our Healthy Paws policy, as promised, covered eighty percent. Monthly premiums increase as our dog ages, of course, but so far, the peace of mind and savings have been well worth the monthly investment.

Ridiculously High Renewal Rates and I've Never Even Used the Insurance
The policy was easy enough to set up. I got ManyPets for my dog when he was about 6 months old. My reason for the low star review is that my policy renewal just came in and my policy went up over 50%!. My dog is only 2 years old and I have NEVER even filed a claim with them. What exactly am I am paying for? I'm planning to change companies because of this. I feel like I'm being ripped off and and not even using the insurance

We'd been fortunate not to have to use…
We'd been fortunate not to have to use the insurance for years when our little guy suddenly became really sick. With all the stress and unknowns I was worried Fetch was going to be like an adversary, not a friend, and fight us on every penny. Instead they took our calls, answered our questions, and took our claims. It allowed us some breathing room on his care and we so grateful.

Trupanion is an awesome insurance…
Trupanion is an awesome insurance company! It offers flexible policies (in terms of the premium/copay balance) and genuinely pays 90% of covered expenses, even if one lives in pricey NYC. There are vets who use their direct pay software, which means one can just get the vet paid directly and pay the balance...and it's quick. (The time between a recent "we have received your claim" and "your claim was approved and we are paying..." emails for a vet direct claim was literally three minutes on a Saturday! ) Trupanion also offers direct deposit for claims paid directly to the client. Finally, their customer service is responsive and genuinely helpful; it also communicates with the claims dept, meaning there is no need to make the sad call about removing a pet from the policy b/c one had to say goodbye, as it is done automatically. Obviously, I'm a believer (and also speaking from personal experience with respect to the above details). Also, to be clear, I am receiving no incentives for this review other than my ongoing satisfaction with Trupanion.
