Underwriting to find any pre existing issues.
Applied over phone on September 12, 2024 paying in full for one year ($600.16) for my 10 year old feline. Was not aware that the underwriting process would take this amount of time. Now concerned, that I dropped my other carrier, Nationwide too soon without making sure that my pet is covered with no waiting period.I have an annual check up due this month and now on hold. I do know that they will be looking for any pre existing conditions. Wish we had Obama Care for pets! Either way, I’ll keep my appt for my kitty no matter if she is covered or not. The online and telephone experience from Embrace is good and very friendly. Updates via email would be helpful. Last update was 10 days ago on a CC from my vet requesting medical records. I called Embrace when I received that email correspondence this past week to correct the age that was reported as incorrect. I was told by the very nice person who answered my call, that they had the medical records and that it was now in review.

THE BEST PET INSURANCE!
Embrace is the most incredible pet insurance there is. The custom service representatives are always quick to help, friendly and very compassionate. If it wasn't for Embrace, I don't know how I would have been able to cover the cost of chemotherapy treatments for my pet. I couldn't recommend them enough!

They call everything a "pre-existing condition" even if your dog never had it before getting insured by Trupanion
My dog developed a tracheal collapse cough after 3 years on Trupanion and because the vet asked if he had ever coughed before, and I said, yes, he coughs maybe 3-4 times a year but nothing like this, they are now calling this a "pre-existing condition" and refusing to cover it. So I just spent $104.00 per month for 3 years and eight months: That comes to a total of $4,606.00 I have spent on Trupanion premiums and I submitted for one $11.00 bill in 3 years and 8 months, and it has been denied. It is not the $11.00 bill--it is the fact that now that my dog has a health condition, which will be life-long, and THAT is why they are denying coverage. Obviously if it WAS a pre-existing condition, our vet would have records of seeing him for it in the past 6 years (3 years ago we adopted him and put him on Trupanion insurance, but he saw our same vet for 3 years prior as our foster dog--not yet adopted. He was NEVER seen for this condition in those 6 years.). This company is a SCAM. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. They had no problem taking my $4,606.00, but the minute I submitted a claim it was denied. They didn't deny it because of the $11.00, They denied because he now has tracheal collapse and they would need to pay forever. But because of this, I cannot even change to another insurer, because although it wasn't a true pre-existing condition when he was with Trupanion, it would be pre-existing at this point. Do NOT trust this company.
