Promise to protect your family is just promo gimmick to get your money

This company has dragged their feet with my claim leading to a financial crisis for my family and causing a sale of my property that was arranged to be stalled indefinitely. The buyer has backed out now and I am in arrears another $2500 each week with the lender, which Sonnet knows about, while I am asked to provide irrelevant information 40 days after the claim all of am sudden. I paid for insurance to cover things like the fire that destroyed my garage but this company wants me to provide all the information about the sale that is now not even happening, and the mortgage documents for some reason. They finally respond to my emails after I submitted the extra information they demanded and still want more information. Now it is over 60 days since the claim. Why they would not have asked for this information back in December when I made the claim leads me to believe that Sonnet is stalling to keep the money in their pocket or incompetent. This trivial claim is simple and their insurance policy I have with them promised to cover incidents like this but it seems that now that's just want all this extra information about irrelevant matters to do with the sale of the property to put extra work on me and delay the claim further or they are desperately seeking some magical detail that will expose some loop hole where they will attempt to disqualify my claim. Otherwise, why do they need it. They have the incident reports, they have my statement, they have the results from a thorough investigation... Why do they need anything else, and why, if they really do need the extra demanded information do they ask for it so late in the claim when they know the delay is costing me thousands of dollars every week that they waste. Now, I've lost the sale and the lender has escalated their penalty fees so high that I now will not make a dime off any sale of my property and, in fact, will have tens of thousands of dollars to pay to sell my own property! Thanks for nothing Sonnet! Your petty delays have cost my family everything we had and more! All because you fail to process a straight forward trivial claim in a respectful manner and time frame. Just another example of rich profitable companies who talk you into, and contract you in to, believing that they will protect and support your needs if you pay them - but when the time comes they turn into just another adversarial threat to you and make things as difficult as possible.

Claims are classified depending on…Claims that are not paid

Claims are classified depending on prior conditions. My dog had liver disease which had not been identified before, but I was told it is a pre-existing condition. The claim was declined. I feel that for the premium I pay monthly some amount of the claim should have been paid.

Good plan for catastrophic events marginal for healthy dogs

The good: Filing claims is easy Reimbursement CAN be fast (some claims are filed and reimbursed within one credit card billing cycle) Customer service does not seem to be outsourced, are efficient, follow up with your questions, and are not pushy. It's great to reduce costs when you have a young dog and an emergency situation arises. The bad: Fine print - your co-pay comes out BEFORE your deductible so you can end up paying more than anticipated. Doesn't cover routine dental (other than the case scenario below) Exam visits are only covered if you choose the higher cost plan/they are a-la-carte coverage Doesn't cover annual visits - you need a secondary wellness plan and it's not super cost effective unless you're getting spay/neuter (the spay neuter cost can apply to a dental cleaning but any dental cleaning I've had had been SIGNIFICANTLY higher than the $150 limit) Wellness plan didn't cover the entire cost of yearly vaccines, and covers some things that aren't standard care/necessary so overall cost savings is marginal bc to use all your benefits you have to do "extra" screenings. The cost for my older dog skyrocketed between age 7/8 (raised 40%) Overall: It's a decent plan if you have a young dog and have an emergency situation or a lifestyle that is higher risk for sickness or accidents, and you're not good at saving money. (My 1.5y/o dog broke his leg and I was happy I had the insurance bc we just gave carte blanche to do what needed to be done to fix him. However any cost savings will be negated after holding insurance for two dogs for 2 years) OR if you have an older dog where you're concerned about age-related illnesses and don't want to worry about cost of care for potential issues like kidney failure, cancer, etc. I would NOT recommend the wellness plan unless you're already interested in doing the full range of screenings/care covered and want a marginal cost reduction.

Happy with FIGO

I've been with FIGO for alsmost 9 years now, 8 German Shepherds. They've been a great company to do business with. Claim's are processed quickly. Price is fair even with the increases that they all do every year. Will never go without pet insurance.
