Although I didnât get the exact outcome I wanted I did get insight and felt like my concerns were considered and that my feelings mattered.
Always a good experience! My pup has had to have different therapies and tests and never have an issue. Payment is processed quickly.

Great Service!
My veterinary specialty surgical center accepted Trupanion as a direct payment, so I did not need to be reimbursed for expensive surgery. Claims submitted through my regular veterinary hospital are processed quickly. I have never had a problem with Trupanion.

Horrible experience
The insurer kept contacting the veterinarian, asking for the same information over and over, which was provided. They would then say the they didn't have enough information to process the claim. It took forever to obtain reimbursement. The office manager at my veterinary hospital spent multiple calls and many minutes trying to satisfy the insurer. I would not recommend them to anyone. I switched to a more expensive provider with a better track record, even though I would lose pre-existing coverage.

Susan - we apologize for any frustration during the processing of your claims. As per the policy we do require medical records for all enrolled pets in order to process claims. Once full records are received (typically we ask for them when you file your first few claims) we will keep them on file for future claims processing and you will never have to submit full records again. In the future, if we do need clarification for a specific claim, we may simply request the date of service exam notes for that visit. We appreciate your efforts to provide those records. We now have full records on file for your pet and your claim has been completed. You should receive your Explanation of Benefits in the next 24-48 hours.
