Not liking it.
I was thinking on getting a pet insurance since I got my puppy 3 months ago but with are in the middle of a pandemic and it was a little hard so I waited until blackfriday for it, on Nov. the 27th I enrolled and paid the full amount FOR THE 3 DAYS LEFT. My dog had thrown up by now but the doctors said it was probably a parasite, he started loosing a lot of weight, got diarrhea together with the vomiting and was not doing good, you could see his spinal cord so I took him to another doctor on Dec. 2nd, he suspected an intussusception and reffered me to do a sonogram ASAP, on Dec. 3rd at 8a.m. we did the sonogram and there it was, the intussusception had already damaged so much in so little time, they advised us to do inmediate surgery to remove part of the intestine. Doctor said to do that same day or the latest the day after, or else my puppy was going to pass away(painfully) so I got myself in debt with an extra credit card hoping and expecting the insurance to pay for it, some or most. Because after all it was an emergency. The answered I received? It will not start working until after 14 DAYS, what was I suppose to do? Ask my dog to not die for another week? I do not understand why I had to PAY FULL AMOUNT FOR 3 DAYS LEFT ON THE MONTH specially when if something happended in that time frame they were going to say "oops, can't pay" I should have not been charge until after the 14 days. Then insurance needs to start working as soon as I ENROLL AND PAY. When you get a vehicle insurance and you get into a massive accident the day after, if you get life insurance and die the day after, if you get house insurance and it burns the day after, they don't say "oops, can't pay"
Nicest customer service reps and quick turnaround.
My first claim with Trupanion was the most pleasant experience at a time when insurance is the last thing you want to think about when your pet i has a terminal illness. The customer service representatives were really nice and knowledgeable and my claim was processed quickly.
A pet insurance plan that saves you money in the long run.
Healthy Paws pet insurance has been the easiest company I have ever dealt with. In the past we had another recommend company and the coverage was lousy, as was the claim response. We go this insurance when our pup was 9 weeks, would not change for anyone. Claims can be submitted online and the response is very quick as is reimbursement. You will save money in the long run, well worth signing up.
Healthy Paws has a very easy claim process and has been phenomenal about quick resolution. It's an invaluable thing to be able to tell the vet to do whatever they need in an emergency and not have to worry about where the money is coming from.
I'm quite pleased with Healthy Paws. The only reason I didn't give them a 10 overall is because they don't cover exams. My cat recently had an illness that required quite a number of tests, 3 vet visits and extensive treatment. Claims were simple to file. Healthy Paws updated me on claim status and processed claims within a few days. They covered all but exams minus the deductible at 80%. I had no worries about "reasonable and customary charges." The customer service rep I exchanged emails with asked how my cat was doing several times,
I am so happy with the customer service the healthy paws has provided throughout the years. Odin being the playful poodle that he is gets into all sorts of things and at times bites off more than he can chew. Healthy paws has been there every step of the way and they are very helpful when it comes to odins vet bills. I would 10/10 recommend!
