This company is dishonest and shady
They denied my dogs claim of a hotspot because he had an ear infection six years earlier. They said it was a pre-existing condition. It was the first hotspot he ever had in his life and we’ve been with them since he was a puppy. Once he turned seven, the premium skyrocket to where I had to add $1000 deductible so I’m paying close to $2400 a year just to be able to submit a claim that is reimbursable. I will be dropping them. Do yourself a favor and just take the premium and put it in a little savings account for when/if you need it. it will also save you a lot of frustration every time you submit a claim they want the full medical records and they rely on you to get it. Just very disappointed.

Four Years of Great Experiences with Pets Best
We have had Pets Best for more than four years, and it has been a really positive experience for our family. We first enrolled Kodak, our older Vizsla, in the plan. About a year later, we added Mia, our younger Vizsla, and as we have adopted more pets, we have continued to add them to our policy. We now have two dogs and three cats covered by Pets Best. Our pets are truly part of our family, so having insurance that helps us provide them with the care they need is very important to us. The recent claim I filed was for Mia's Revolution treatment. I submitted the claim on September 13, 2026, and received the payment just two days later, on September 15. The total bill was $152.60, and Pets Best paid $80.00 through our EssentialWellness plan. The whole process was easy, quick, and straightforward. The information was clear, and I could easily understand how the claim was processed and what portion was covered. I really appreciated not having to spend a lot of time figuring things out. We have continued with Pets Best for more than four years because we have been very satisfied with the service. As our family of pets has grown, we have felt confident adding each new member to our coverage. Knowing that we have that support gives us peace of mind and allows us to focus on taking good care of our pets when they need veterinary care. This experience with Mia's claim was another example of why we have been so happy with Pets Best.

I had taken my Alfie for his exam at his Vet's office and shortly after I got home I sent in on line his statements! There were a few questions, I then I attached statements and it was done so easily without any confusion! My check was in my checking account within 2-3 days! Petsbest is a company I can trust!
Congenital Deformity
Fostering a Gldn born w/congenital right-front stump including top bone, joint and partial lower bone, no paw. They don’t take a pup w/congenital deformity. I have had 5 other Golden’s insured by them through the years and they have paid quickly.

As a new customer, Pets Best has been delightful! I've never used pet insurance before, but the claims process was very simple and straight forward.
Very fast and easy claims process!
My cat Oaxaca became very ill with a high fever. We took him to the animal hospital, and he had to stay 3 days and receive various tests, X-rays, and IV treatments. The vets could not determine the cause of the fever, but he recovered well with some medicine (antibiotics and prednisone) at home. I was worried that claims process would be complicated and lengthy. To my surprise we received our reimbursement about a week later. It was a great relief as the hospital bill was expensive, and Pets Besr reimbursed at the promised rate of 80% minus the $250 deductible. We are very happy and pleased and will remain lifelong customers.
Two Insurance Providers To Avoid
I had Nationwide Insurance for about 10 years to cover 2 dogs and always remained in good standing. However, one year ago, they notified policy holders they would not be renewing policies but offered much lower grade coverage. MetLife was highly recommended by a relative so I gave them a try. WORSE MISTAKE EVER! Because of my dog's age he has arthritis and NO INSURANCE COMPANY covers pre-existing conditions. I am angry at Nationwide or leaving me cold and dry. In 5 months, I have paid over $1300 in premiums to MetLife only to be reimbursed less than $200 and not even for my dog's arthritis condition. Every claim submitted to MetLife is denied., attributing it to a pre-existing condition when it is NOT! Even a written statement from the Veterinarian denouncing a pre-existing condition does not convince MetLife. They also have the Veterinarian and I jumping through hoops after claims are submitted because they never have enough documentation to be satisfied. Even after submitting everything they request, claims are still denied. I will be canceling MetLife and will pay my own Veterinarian expenses since I'm already doing that and will save almost $300 per month on premiums.
