Good product but claim process needs work
We have had good service but the online claims process needs work. It only allows you to upload a few documents and no way to submit more so I've had to submit our claim in three separate online processes.

They paid the claim (Most important thing!)
I've had Healthy Paws for a few years and never had to file a real claim until now. Up to this point, they had always processed my small claims quickly, applying them to my yearly deductible (but I never met it for the year). Recently I had to have a cancerous tumor removed from my dog, resulting in a $1200 vet bill. Healthy Paws processed it quickly and we had a ~$850check (90% coverage - $250 deductible) within a week. They didn't request any extra information or give me any grief at all. THEN they sent an email checking up on my dog, expressing their sympathy for his tumor and hoped he was doing better. WOW! I've never had an insurance company express ANY concern for my wellbeing so this was a pleasant surprise. Since I started with Healthy Paws about 2 years ago, my monthly premium has gone up ~16% (my dog is around 8 years old now). This seems pretty good from the research I've done. I HIGHLY recommend Healthy Paws!

GREAT customer service!!
Healthy Paws pet insurance is very easy to work with. They process claims quickly, and the coverage is excellent. I also appreciated the follow-up message that they sent to check on my dog after his surgery. I recommend them to anyone who is considering insurance for their pet!

BEST INSURANCE PLAN EVER!!!
Trupanion has been providing the most wonderful coverage I could ask for during my Greyhound Buttercups' diagnosis and treatment for thyroid cancer. This has been ongoing since Feb. 2015 and if not for their amazing support, I would have fallen apart. From the first vet bill onward, they have contacted me to be sure that all was going well, they've covered what they promised to cover, and best of all, I am able to receive Buttercup's benefits at the point of care, rather than having to pay up front and submitting for reimbursement!!I expect that not all vet offices have established protocols for submission to Trupanion to determine coverage and allow immediate application to the bill, but my provider does and it is a Godsend when I am emotional because of a my dogs cancer diagnosis. I have spoken to a representative on multiple occasions and they have sent me wonderful personal email communications, too. I have had other insurance policies that were good, but this company is GREAT. REALLY.

A Million Stars! So grateful for Healthy Paws!!
We have three pets, all of which are insured with Healthy Paws. Whenever we submit a claim, it is always processed quickly and a reimbursement check is sent to us promptly. After learning the hard way and nearly going broke when our cat required an extended hospital stay, I am a huge advocate of pet insurance. It's such an awful experience to have to think of money when your pet needs care. Having Healthy Paws in our corner lets us focus on getting our pets the care they need. Their claim submission process is very easy too - I just upload a copy of the invoice and the vet's summary if I have it. Healthy Paws' customer service is outstanding as well. Whenever I call or email a question, I always get a prompt, courteous response. I even get notes checking up on my pets after they've submitted a claim. Recently, our puppy underwent a rather serious surgery to both forelimbs. We were so upset that he needed the surgery, but so grateful that it was covered by Healthy Paws. Honestly, every time our claims are processed for reimbursement, I literally have to hold back tears of gratitude.

Very nice Customer Service folks
I have only every insured one pet so I have nothing to compare ASPCA Insurance with. Having said that, the Associates are always very friendly and helpful. There have been times I was disappointed at the result of my claims but when my dog almost died of a serious illness and had to be in an emergency hospital for 3 days, the money I got back was almost half of my roughly $3000.00 bill.

Pets Best NOT worth it - claim delays and denials
I have been with Pets Best since 2007 and over the years have become more dissatisfied. For the first few years they were reasonable and reimbursed promptly, then in one year they more than doubled the rates. In 2015, after having to put down two of our three dogs, they only covered a fraction of the costs for end of life care and cancer treatments. Their underwriters (claim processors) assume to have more authority than a cancer specialist on a diagnosis and denied my claims based on THEIR OWN interpretation of medical records, in spite of my appeal with a letter written by my veterinary oncologist to support my claim. Communication on my appeal was not specific, and their denial gave no explanation, or acknowledgement of the facts presented. Their decision was arbitrary. Now with only one dog left, they are insisting on vet records on even minor incidents, and on back-to-back claims even whey they already have the most recent records. I believe they are causing unnecessary waiting periods in order to collect their premium payments each month. Sadly, I will NOT use this company again for any future pets we adopt.
