Really poor underwriter
The underwriter on this claim closed the claim out without asking for an itemized bill so she could pay the correct amount. I contacted her because I knew it should be covered and she said she did not have an itemized bill so she closed the claim without ever co tacking mee. I asked to speak to a superviser and she said she gave my name to the superviser. I have never been contacted. I have a policy with five dogs. I would think someone would take care of this. I am looking for a new insurer.

run run away from this scam!
We started with a $50 policy, no deductible. Six years later with only 2 small claims...my rate is $117 a month. I live in Calgary Alberta, when we moved from the SE quadrant of the city to the SW quadrant, they told me there were different rates for my new address (slightly better neighborhood), and they immediately upped my monthly rate by just over $20 each month. That is crazy. Bank the money each month and then it will be there when you need it. I estimate that I would have over $5000 in that account if I needed it.

Healthy Paws is 100% amazing
Signing up for Healthy Paws insurance is by far one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. They have been the most amazing, reliable company. I can’t speak highly enough of them for the confidence and the peace of mind they give me. I have submitted huge claim after claim because my dog has had some serious health issues from the very beginning and they are alway responsive and provide the exact service they advertise. I get 90% of all my claims after my $250 annual deductible, every single time. Banjo has had a plethora of health issues since I brought him home. He was born with luxating patella stage 3 in both back legs, and had to have surgery only a couple months after I brought him home. Then when he was about 1 the vet thought it was a bowel obstruction and he had another surgery, but it turned out he did not have an obstruction but rather his intestines had swollen almost shut from food allergies. About a month ago (he’s not even 2 yet) he started limping again, had x-rays and turned out he had torn all the ligaments in his knee and had to have yet another surgery on his leg. Healthy Paws has taken care of us through every single obstacle. He’s the happiest most loving dog, despite all the health problems he has had and I get to provide him with the health care he needs to have a full and complete life thanks to Healthy Paws.

Trupanion Is Even Better Than Advertised!
I signed my dog up for Trupanion following her wellness checkup. A few weeks later, she was diagnosed with Cushings disease. Trupanion has been wonderful about processing our claims for her diagnosis and treatment. They are quick and efficient and we received a check in the mail the week following our first claim. I am very grateful that our vet told me about Trupanion.

keena limping off/on
keena was limping for ~4 wks off/on...took her to my vet..was told she had torn her ccl.left hind leg..saw surgeon the next week{trupanion gave pre approval for the tplo surgery}....was not convinced it was a torn ccl...more tests were done...now waiting to hear if it is a torn ccl...or an autoimmune issue... ....trupanion covered the costs of the extra tests ..no questions asked ..$$in my account in 2 days!...

Highly Recommended !!!
We have submitted many claims over the past 7 years and have never had an issue. Our Golden Retriever had to go to the US for one month of radiation and the cost was significant. We were never questioned and the claims were paid promptly. Escalating premiums our only concern. Overall, our experience has been a pleasant surprise, highly recommended!!
