Not worth it
I honestly heard great things about this company until I added a policy for my dogs. Initially, everything was okay until my pet was diagnosed with skin allergy and trupanion refused to cover it stating that it was a pre-existing condition. (which it was not!) he came in the vet previously for skin irritations from fleas. I kept the insurance for another year just in case if anything were to happen to my babies and realized that my bill was increased by about 30 dollars at the year mark. I was not notify about this issue so i was a bit upset. I called to discuss the issue and decided to cancel instead. Trying to cancel your policy is a NIGHTMARE!! they will try anything to force you to stay with them even if it's increasing your deductible to $1000. WHY? when they wouldn't even cover my $100 deductible? This wasn't a pleasant experience for me. I wouldn't recommend them.

Exceptional!
Nobody wants to think about a costly accident or illness for their family member, but after watching a friend go through costly surgery with him golden lab puppy, I found it a good idea, boy an I glam I did, our Cheasapeak bay retriever was accidentally poisoned by a neighbor who had been baiting gophers and squirrels, three days in the animal hospital. Embrace was wonderful to deal with, courtious, compassionate, caring, genuine. Claim was paid in less than two weeks of vet visit. Would highly recommend this company, thank you to the staff at Embrace !

Amazing Coverage!!
Trupanion is amazing. At an already stressful time when your companion is in need of vet care, there is no "B.S." to deal with. I am so glad that Trupanion has proven time and time again to really be there when we needed it, and having to giant breed dogs this is important. My dog Cooper is 15 months old and this insurance is the best decision I ever made. Cooper has had some health issues in his short little life but the one thing I have not had to worry about is his medical bills. Trupanion has paid every single one of them...promptly...without me making one call. My doctor's office submits the bills, Trupanion keeps me updated by email of the status of the claim and the check comes in the mail...usually within a 2 - 2 1/2 week period from the time they receive the claim...it is that simple. If you are looking at other companies you can stop, you have found the one who does what they say they do. I hear other people talking about their rates going up crazy with other companies after they put in a claim. I had 4 claims my first year and my rate for my second year went up a little over $4 a month. Nothing crazy here.
