Disappointing Experience – Slow Claims Processing but Fast Premium Increases I am extremely frustrated with Spot Pet Insurance. I submitted a claim for my dog’s surgery on February 10, 2025, and nearly a month later, I am still waiting for my reimbursement. I have sent all required medical records multiple times—first through my vet (VCA Natomas Animal Medical Center on March 5) and then directly myself on March 10. Despite this, they keep asking for the same information, dragging out the process unnecessarily. What’s even more infuriating? They had no problem increasing my premium right after I filed a claim, but when it comes to actually paying out the reimbursement, they delay and make things difficult. This company claims to be honest and reliable, but my experience has been the opposite. If you’re considering getting pet insurance, be warned—Spot will take your money quickly but stall when it comes to paying out claims. I will be looking for a more trustworthy provider after this experience. DO BETTER, SPOT!

Great experience all around
I submitted claims for the first time this year forbour tiny yorkie. She developed possible exocrine pancreatic insufficiency and inflammatory bowel disease. This has required several emergency visits to a specialty clinic and a couple admissions as well. Our claims were processed very quickly which may have been partially due to the emergency clinic’s responsiveness in sending chart info along with my bills and payments. I have to commend Embrace for their handling of these claims within the policy parameters. This has been my first experience submitting pet insurance claims and I’m so thankful I went with Embrace, In contrast I have an additional policy on her for the past several years with another insurer who is secondary. They have refused to pick up any of the balance on these claims trying to say this was all preexisting…they are about to be cut loose and a poor review posted.(this is Many Pets) I just want to add that when you are agonizing over your fur baby’s illness and struggles, a warm Embrace is the best thing out there. Thank you Embrace, and USAA where I discovered you!

Sarge & Shadow Journey
This is the 2nd pet I have had insured under this pet insurance. I am grateful that they allowed me to divert all my attention to my pets care and not to dealing with fighting claims and getting paid. The claim process is so easy and they are quick to pay. I appreciate this kind of service especially when I am paying. Thanks to all who were involved with Sarge & Shadow. Sadly I had to let both go and now they are in doggie heaven enjoying each other again and looking down on me. I call them my angels. Thanks.

Difficult to navigate
For the first pet, it did not give me the option to add another pet so I had to do a separate application. I am hoping I will still get the multi-pet discount. I also had different options for the second pet, with no explanation and my vet wasn't listed which was frustrating

Pleasantly Surprised
I have had Spot now for almost two years, and this was my first time filing a large claim for an emergency vet visit after a visit with my regular vet. I was very pleased with the outcome. I filed all relevant paperwork and had my reimbursement within three days. I spoke to people I work with about their disappointments with other pet insurance companies and recommended Spot to them.

So far my experience with Embrace has been positive. At times getting through via a phone call can be a bit challenging. However once a live representative services the issue it has been pleasant and professional. The portal to submit claims is an awesome tool.
