Go elsewhere

Ugh. Our experience was frustrating. Maybe if you have a pet with zero preexisting problems...? They would look for any reason deny claims - saying it was related to preexisting condition - despite what our vet would say. Good luck appealing anything. I found that any attempts talking customer service - you would just find yourself being talked to in circles. (Even when cancelling our coverage... What a frustrating experience!) They increase their premiums without notice. And by large amounts. Which adds up each month - especially with two dogs. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere (or putting that money into a separate account each month... Into your own pockets instead of theirs). If we did insurance with pets in our future - it wouldn't be with trupanion.

Expensive but worth it

I have really NEVER had an issue getting reimbursement from Embrace. Yes, the coverage is expensive, but you're basically rebated a significant amount of your premium dollars with each vet visit -- annual wellness and/or dental cleanings. And it's great to know if you ever REALLY need insurance for a very expensive or life saving procedure, it's there.

An example for all insurance companies

If all insurance companies were this efficient wouldn't the world be a wonderful place. I cannot express enough how pleased my wife and I have been with the professionalism, courtesy and rapid response of Trupanion. Every claim has been processed promptly, never more than a couple of days. If you don't insure with Trupanion, you made a mistake.

Customer Service is quick and tech friendly

I've used Embrace for a year now and I'm very pleased with the service they provide. I recommend pet insurance if you don't have any and I highly recommend Embrace as your choice.

Very happy with this provider

My dog was taken to the emergency clinic and racked up an impressive $3K bill due to all the tests, meds and hospitalization stay. We have the emergency insurance option and my claim was processed within 6 business days. I got back the full 80% I was owed in my policy and the money was in my account the next day. I am so relieved I had this insurance or else we'd be in a tough spot

Long Term, Very Satisfied Customer

I've been a customer of Embrace for eight years now, having insured my eight year old dachshund when he was a puppy. Purchasing insurance through Embrace was the best decision I've made for my dog. Dachshunds have a history of back problems, and frequently get IVDD, a very serious disc disease leading to paralysis if not treated surgically. Most carriers won't cover preexisting conditions, and any breed specific condition is considered preexisting if a particular breed is prone to getting it. I knew I didn't need insurance coverage for typical check-ups, but I feared what would happen if my dog ever needed back surgery. Embrace, unlike most other carriers, covers breed specific preexisting conditions, so they covered my dog for potential issues with IVDD. I had coverage for four years without using it one time. At one point, I cancelled because I felt like the insurance was a waste. I quickly rethought my decision, and reinsured my dog. Six months after I cancelled my insurance, my dog had his first incidence of IVDD. Without surgery, he would be paralyzed, and surgery cost ~$10,000. I didn't have to hesitate to give him the best care, because he was insured through Embrace. I submitted the claim, and Embrace quickly reimbursed me for my costs. Since that time, my dog has had two additional incidents of IVDD, and has required surgery each time. My premiums are expensive. I now pay around $1,100 each year to have him insured. But Embrace has paid for each of his ~$10,000 surgeries, to a tune of almost $30,000. I'm sure I'm Embrace's worst customer, but they are my favorite insurance carrier. I can't say enough about the company, and I strongly recommend insuring your pet through Embrace.

Fantastic support

We got our lab and debated getting pet insurance as she was young and we thought pet insurance is probably more necessary for an older pet. However as it was our first pet we decided to get insurance for a year and look at it again then. Best decision we've ever taken. Within the first month of taking the insurance she burst her ACL. We had to have surgery. Unfortunately we went with the old style surgery as we were recommended that there was not much of a difference except the new was around double the cost. Within 6 months she damaged her meniscus which resulted in more surgery - so we're now at around the same cost but unfortunately not as stable a knee. We have submitted 4 claims and all have been promptly and reasonably paid. The claim process is simple - take a picture of the receipt on your phone and send it on. I definitely will be keeping this insurance I highly recommend Healthy Paws
