I signed up because I didn't ever want to be put into the position of having to decide about whether or not to have a procedure for my dog based on its cost. Truthfully, I was always skeptical about whether these people would ever pay a claim and wondered if it was all a scam. It's no scam. My dog recently had very expensive heart surgery (doing fine now) and they paid everything they were supposed to ($7K out of $8K). I couldn't endorse these people more highly. My dog has better health insurance than I do.

Amazing Coverage and Responsiveness
Our baby puppy was so sick and needed emergency surgery and to stay in the ICU. Trupanion was right there by our sides and as soon as we submitted the bills we were reimbursed so quickly, within 5 days! Additionally, as the puppy's infection spread to a different area Trupanion still covered his 5 day stay in the ICU! If we didn't have the coverage from Trupanion we probably would not have been able to keep the puppy alive financially. It is amazing and I recommend it to everyone. Our puppy is going to recover and live and normal healthy life all because of what this insurance company could do for us. Thank you Trupanion!

Having Trupanion saved my dogs life!
My dog Sage got very ill, without Truepanion she wouldn't be here today. The direct billing from the vet hospital was a true blessing. Not having to put out money for the entire bill and then waiting for reimbursement took away the financial stress. Thank you Trupanion!

Trupanion is by far the best pet insurance company. They are quick to review and resolve claims. Their representatives are compassionate, knowledgeable, professional and always demonstrates a willingness to help. Excellent support and service!
We purchased insurance when our puppy was 4 months old, we had never had pet insurance before but our vet recommended it. It's something you never want to have to actually use. Then in a few months we found ourselves in a terrible situation and didn't even know if our puppy was going to live. Trupanion supported us with kindness and professionalism. Fortunately the expensive medical care that our puppy needed was covered and Trupanion stayed with us to make sure of that. There the best!
I love them there amazing literally if it wasn't for them I wouldn't even have my dog right now. My dog was only 9 weeks old and sick with a congenital disease in the hospital for two weeks hospitalized the bill was 65,000 dollars I was on there 30 day free trail and they covered 57,000 dollars and I didn't even pay them anything but they were there for her with no problem.

Hands down the best
I'm a veterinarian and have experience with many pet insurance companies, both for my own pets and for the pets of my clients. On a personal note, our beloved 3 year old dog contracted a serious infection, was hospitalized for 10 days, and tragically died of a blood clot to the brain when all other systems were on the mend. During this terrible time, it was comforting to know that we could make important care decisions without concerns about cost. Trupanion reimbursed us quickly for 90% of everything less the one time deductible and the small administrative fees. During a time of stress and ultimately grief, Trupanion came through. We experienced, and I hear from my clients, that Trupanion lacks the bureaucracy of other plans. The plan options are uncomplicated compared to others, and I take great comfort in knowing that the Plan's underwriter is owned by Trupanion. My last pet plan switched its underwriter, and suddenly our costs increased and we had a plan with less desirable coverage. I recommend Trupanion to my clients without reservation.

Excellent Pet Insurance!
Sometimes I'm not sure whether I should send in a claim because I don't take out Wellness Insurance but I did on a tooth extraction while they were doing a cleaning and they paid for a portion of the bill. So if I don 't about a claim if it's covered, I send it in anyways, they will figure it out as they are the experts. I've never had any complaints.
