Dexter’s Companion is Trupanion
Outstanding service! Had other insurance with previous dogs and they fail in comparison to Trupanion. They are the Model other insurers should aspire to. Not sure what their name means but in my opinion it should mean True Companion because they are in all aspects. Dexter and I thank you
This company has been on a downward spiral! They used to be affordable when my dogs were young. Now, the per pet premium has climbed to nearly $500/mo and claims are taking two months to be reimbursed. Recinsider before you choose!
After looking for a long time, I enrolled in healthy paws shortly after bringing home my sheltie puppy. As it turns out, he’s very accident prone. We celebrated his first birthday about a month ago by getting a plate put in his leg. He jumped off of the bed (he didn’t use the steps for some reason) and shattered his radius/ulna. I filed the claim on healthy paws very easily and the refund was deposited in only a few short days. That was the most recent time we’ve filed a claim through them but certainly wasn’t the first. Very shortly before he broke his leg he cut a different leg open to the bone (on a stick playing in the back yard because he’s a mess) and had to get staples which they again refunded in only days no issue. Basically to sum it up healthy paws has been absolutely amazing with easy claims, very fast refunds and they even email to check up on him after each refund they’ve sent me! I highly recommend healthy paws pet insurance!
I have had Healthy Paws pet insurance from the day I brought my dog home. I researched all of the pet insurance companies and found Healthy Paws reviews to be the best. I really liked that there was only one annual deductible and no other caps on diagnoses or total amount of claims. Still, I was hoping that I would never need them. Unfortunately, I did ... several times over the last 6 years, most recently when my dog was diagnosed with a horrible eye disease. Every time I submitted a claim, Healthy Paws processed it quickly and easily. Given the enormous stress of my dog's illness, the last thing I needed was to have to fight with an insurance company. That was not the case with Healthy Paws. And, they followed up asking how my dog was doing. Excellent company with excellent customer service.
When our little rescue girl, Bambi, came to live with us, I knew I wanted to get health insurance for her. I spent several hours researching companies & policies. I decided on HealthyPaws because they offered coverage for non-tradiional treatments as well as conventional ones, and they use part of their profits to support animal shelters. In the almost 4 years since taking out the insurance, HealthyPaws has been terrific. They are responsive to inquiries & reimbursement is very quick, usually within a week of the claim being submitted. The app is easy to use & the web site offers a very complete & up-to-date picture of the history of my girl's treatment submissions. I have no hesitation in recommending HealthyPaws to anyone looking for insurance for their pets & have recommended them to several friends, all of whom are just as happy as I am with their coverage & service! Thanks HealthyPaws for helping me take good care of Bambi!
Trupanion has been absolutely wonderful.
I highly recommend this insurance. They are very quick with their payments. I’ve had them almost 9 years and have never had a problem. Do yourself a favor and get Trupanion.
Extremely poor communication. Would just send rejected claim after rejected claim, leaving 14k from an extended sitting in limbo for months before rejecting a claim. I would have to call weekly (waiting 1-3 hrs on hold on their phone line because there is no email or chat communication...) and then go through 3-4 reps to get the status of my claim(s) and argue myself why the extensive evidence provided by my vet for my cat's medical records. I have paid over $50 per cat per month and honestly have had less than $400 of over $20k of claims covered over the years. My visit with the vet prior to the insurance kicking in had a complaint of vomiting on the record, which has lead to rejections of health claims ranging from liver infection to (I kid you not) a torn claw. I know you have to fight insurance frequently to get coverage but even the process to get a claim status is extremely time consuming and painful. The app is also very poorly written, buggy and crashes frequently, resulting in duplicate claims or missing information on claims which is another 2-3 hrs of waiting in a phone hold line to fix.
