Great insurance company
Love Nationwide Pet Insurance. Claims are easy to file, response time is great and so is the coverage. They are also a very thoughtful company, following up after my pets have had to visit the vet.

I could focus on getting him better, not worrying about how I was going to afford it.
About a month ago, I let Oliver out for one more "potty" in the backyard. About 3 seconds after he bounded out the door I heard the most excruciating yelp I have ever experienced. I ran out to check on him and he was in the corner, trembling and unable to put any weight on his right back leg. I scooped him up and headed to urgent care where about an hour later I was informed that he had torn both his ACL and his Meniscus and would more than likely need surgery. A trip to VCA a few days later confirmed my worst fear. TPLO surgery was scheduled. Never once did I worry about the cost. I knew that Nationwide was there to help. It's now almost 3 weeks post surgery and every day his leg gets stronger and stronger. He is no longer in pain and in a few more months should be back to 100%! I know people who have dogs who have had similar injuries and they have not been able to afford the surgery. I highly recommend Nationwide to them for future needs.

Nationwide is taking care of my bully
My english bulldog had an allergic reaction which spread all over her body leaving her face raw. Nationwide covered the vet bill and medications and our trip to the eye doctor for her eye ulcer and additional medication. Claims are very easy to submit. Communication is quick and payment is quick.

Hyperthyroidism vs Hyperthyroid confusion
Cricket appears to be doing well, but I have to wait for bloodwork in a few weeks to be sure if the radioactive iodine worked. It was confusing at first for the claim, but you came through as you usually do.

I appreciate the reimbursement, but the process takes far too long
I'm happy with my plan and the reimbursement, but the claim process is convoluted (downloading multiple forms) and takes an incredibly long time. As someone who's had to submit multiple claims for the same problem with my dog, it's frustrating to wait several weeks between claim submission and reimbursement. On a non-related note, you don't offer my dog's breed, treeing walker coonhound, as an option for this form. Maybe consider adding that for us TWC owners?

Thank God for Nationwide Pet insurance.
Very quick with the claims I've turned in on Mr. Pickles. It's great to be able to have everything done quickly and the money deposit in the bank without me having to drive anywhere to take care of it.

Needs major changes
When a dog is 16.5 years old with a lung disease, they should NOT have to undergo sedation for a biopsy to prove they have IBD. The top Internal Medicine Vets at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center proved he had it by sending his info to Texas A snd M for verification. Dr. Lindsay Merkel, Chief of the Internal Medicine dept at the UVMC even sent a letter into you explaining this. Very upset you have this ridiculous rule. You need to make exceptions for dogs that cannot undergo sedation because it would kill them. VPI/Nationwide used to be fantastic and you need to understand that not all dogs cannot have sedation. Many are older and have conditions that prevent them from being sedated. I hope they adjust their requirements and get back to being the best pet insurer on the market.
