Fast Reimbursement

When I first submitted my claim to Trupanion, it was denied and deemed a pre-existing condition. Once my vet stepped in to plead my case, Trupanion reconsidered their judgment and accepted the claim, and granted me a Pre-approval number. Once the claim was processed, I was pleased to discover that Trupanion paid 90% of the charges associated with her surgery and post-operative care, with the exception of the standard office visit fees charged by the vets that she saw. Since I was paying for services up front, I expected I would have to wait a long time to be reimbursed for my out of pocket costs, however, I had a check in my hands within three weeks of submitting my claim. Thank you, Trupanion, I would certainly recommend your company to other pet owners.

Thank god we had pet insurance!

Pets Best's plan is very clear and easy to understand, and when our dog was attacked and needed surgery, the company delivered exactly what they said they would. In addition, the ability to submit claims online is very convenient, as is the ability to have the insurance money direct deposited into our bank account. I am so grateful to Pets Best. My only recommendation would be to get the higher per incident limit. The $2500 we got to cover the surgery was really helpful, but the total cost was $5500. Next year, I'll be getting the $7000 per incident limit.

SO easy to work with!!

This has been my first time having pet insurance. Our other dog never seemed to need it, but when we got our german shepard I thought bigger dog, bigger problems. This was the first claim we filed (only 6 months after the policy became active) due to a large dog bite on our puppies stomach that required surgery. Trupanion was so easy to work with and collected all required documentation with little to no follow up on our end. The first claim, as the warned, takes about 2-3 weeks to process because the request all history on the animal. From that point forward they say claims typically process within a week. They paid us 90% of our total cost (excluding exam fee), which came out to almost $1,000! I don't know what we would have done without this coverage! I recommend Trupanion 100% to anyone looking for simple, easy to understand coverage for their pet. So far they have been true to their word and I am very happy we chose them for our dog!!

Consistently pays claims

My Dog has a variety of orthopedic related issues and whether it was surgery, xrays and the follow on monthly medication, Embrace has covered the items I've submitted. This is my first insurance policy and it's certainly worked out in my favor. Very good customer service and claims have been paid without much delay.

A very happy customer

I've had Embrace for both my dogs for a few years now, and have always had an easy time with claims. Now one of my dogs has Cushing's Disease, which requires a lot of testing and treatment. I'm astounded at the incredibly fast turnaround of claims, the easy access of agents, and the kindness and thoughtfulness of everyone I've dealt with at Embrace. It's wonderful to know that I can afford to get treatment for my precious pet thanks to insurance. I'm recommending Embrace to all my pet-owning friends.

Every Claim Denied

I adopted a four month old kitten from a local shelter. I took her to the vet prior to my Pets Best policy taking effect. What a mistake!!! Since that initial health exam every claim I have submitted has been denied due to pre-existing conditions. I guess I should have taken her to the vet pre-adoption for a check up and returned her if she did not have a clean bill of health. Maybe I should have had her evaluated in momma's womb. Pets Best at one time was good insurance, however since being taken over by Aetna all they want is to collect your premium and deny legitimate claims.

Excuses for Everything

I have a little pomeranian puppy who has an open fontanel. The Trupanion representative said that it didnt matter and that he would be covered by the pet insurance. He also developed bronchitus a few days after signing up for the insurance. The doctors original checkup notes stated that his eyes were watery. My little pomeranian started having siezures a few weeks later and has required a trip to the neurologist and a prescription of phenbarbital. Last week I submitted my claims to trupanion. The ones for the siezures and the ones for the bronchitus checkups. They will not cover any of the bills. They claim now that an open fontanel is a pre-condition for siezures and the watery eyes noted by the doctor indicated that bronchitus was develping and therefore also fell under the pre-existing condition category. They did however want to reimburse me for coccidia medication, even though their contract specificly states that they do not cover parasitic infectons. Im up to $2k in vet bills and up until this point had been sleeping a little easier thinking trupanion had me covered. But all they want to help me with is a $12 deworming medication after paying them $50 a month for coverage. My advice is DO NOT BOTHER WITH THEM! They are all about the business(playing lawyer) and have little interest in providing excellence in customer service to their policy holders.
