Great Coverage

We puchased pet insurance, didn't thinking we would need it, for our Lab puppy. We also purchased a rider for coverage of hip dysplasia, the most common serious health problem for Labs. I'm so glad we did. It turns out our puppy has severe hip dysplasia with "loose hips." We got 4 opinions and all recommended hip surgery, 3/4 recommending bilateral hip replacement. Our little girl had her first hip surgery and Trupanion was so easy to work with. They made a payment directly to the veterinary clinic without delay. I'm very happy with them.

Healthy Paws Has Been a Blessing

We bought the Healthy Paws plan for our rescued Golden Retriever, Charlie, hoping never to need it. However, we have called upon them a great deal over the past month. Healthy Paws has been a true partner in helping our rescued Golden Retriever, Charlie, battle a mast cell tumor. They have been very responsive with amazing turn-around on claims. We have 3 other rescue dogs, including a new puppy, we intend to cover with Healthy Paws.

Glad I got it!

We are animal lovers and have a houseful of pets. Last summer we found a lost/stray dog who we took in. I never found his people. Chauncey was a sick dog and after investing quite a bit of money into his health, a second cat of ours in a year was diagnosed as hyperthyroid and our vet bills were skyrocketing. Chauncey needed badly to have his teeth cleaned and had not been neutered. I honestly didn't know how we were going to pay for all of this. So, I started looking into insurance. Years ago our cats were covered by VPI and initially I was just going to go with them since they were the "devil known". But when I tried to make sense of how they determine benefit reimbursement amounts I wasn't very happy. After talking to several companies I pondered Pets Best the most. The fella I had talked to over the phone about the insurance and what may or may not be covered and what may or may not be considered pre-existing conditions was so helpful that in the end I decided to give Pets Best a try based on this conversation, and what the Wellness Plan offered. I signed Chauncey up for the insurance and figured I should wait awhile before scheduling the neuter and dental, but Pets Best called me the day the 14 day waiting period was over to let me know that the policy was active and that if I needed to have anything done with him, I could. In under a month of signing up he has had his dental and has been neutered. I just got my reimbursement today and out of $603 they reim

Thanks for Jessie

Jessie had a small lump removed and biopsied. The biopsy showed it was cancer. I had lost my job and was so scared I wouldnt be able to take care of the surgery. The insurance helped. I didnt get back as much as I hoped for, but any amount is better than none. My Jessie means more to me than anything!

Very Bad Experience with Embrace

Our two pomeranians have had embrace as their insurance provider for the past 3 years or now but boy are we regretting it. After faithfully paying out a considerable # of claims for us, Embrace has decided to CHANGE THE RULES in terms of their amount of reimbursement. Our two dogs need laser treatments for the continued ailments, and instead of providing us with full/almost full coverage (as they used to provide) of said laser treatments , they are now paying us a maximum of $50 (for a $200+ treatment). They have also decided that a recent injection (an antibiotic) for one of our dogs was "overpriced" by the Vet, and they refunded us $25 instead of the $150 the injection cost us. So ALL OF A SUDDEN, Embrace has switched what was their routine procedures/reimbursements with us, to their liking. We don't know what other provider we will switch to, but I can tell you from our experience Embrace is becoming more and more unethical. STAY AWAY from Embrace.
