Trupanion Saved My Dog

I would not have been able to afford the emergency veterinary care that my Aussie/Border Collie cross received twice; once due to an accident and once to a life threatening illness. Both times the bill was over $1000. I can hardly believe how easy it was to have my claim processed and 90% of my bills paid. I wish my personal health insurance was this efficient. I would recommend this company without hesitation. They are literally life savers.

Why has the speedy claims service slowed

Embrace has good coverage but I also liked the speedy claims service they provided in the past. I used to be out my money for only about 2 weeks. Recently is has been over 30 days. I see it is now 15 business days before they even process the claim.

Excellent all around insurance

I have nothing to say about Embrace except good things. I think it was 2007 when one of my golden retrievers, Frisbee, got a torn cruciate ligament and at the time I was unemployed, no money coming in, and no pet insurance. I struggled but I found IMOM.org where people log in to see what your story is and donate to the dogs or cats they choose to. So I needed $3,300 for the Frisbee’s surgery and I had to wait for a couple months before all the money got donated. Frisbee got his surgery paid for all in donations. After that, as soon as I got an income stream coming in, I searched around for insurance companies and most did not cover preexisting conditions, or they did not pay for diseases specific to the breed, or wouldn't except my Abby because she was 8 at the time, or they paid claims on their own rate schedule. Then I found Embrace. We have been insured with Embrace since 2008 and my Frisbee is no longer with us but, I have L. Bostwick and Abby. I am so glad I found Embrace because before Frisbee died he came down with cancer and Embrace paid for all his chemotherapy pills, surgery, and specialist visits at the hospital. During the time we have been insured with Embrace they have paid every claim within the 15 business day window, and most of the time they paid within 2 weeks. I have the reimbursements automatically deposited to my checking account which is a huge convenience. I highly recommend Embrace pet insurance to everyone who has a pet.

It worked as advertised

Derby had/has bilateral cranial cruciate ligament tears. I recieved a check which was for exactly what it should have been. But unfortunately we are not finished. I still have x-rays to check the healing and her right knee to fix. I hope everything goes as well with Embrace as it has so far.

Avoid at all costs

I was incredibly happy to find this company. Their focus on customer service, impressive coverage, and smaller company size as compared to AKC or Purina really drew me to them initially. Sadly this was short-lived. I purchased a better than average policy that covered accident, illness and wellness care. After all, with a great dane you can't be too careful. For my money I expected to be treated to the great service that they advertise. I got the exact opposite. My time seemed less important than their time. My claims took too long. When they asked me a third time for my pet's health insurance after I had already provided it two separate times I should have seen the writing on the wall but that wasn't the worst of it. Bottom line is, they provide good customer service on some occasions but my experience showed them to be disorganized, rude, & lazy. The person who "helped" me was one of the worst excuses for a customer service rep I've ever seen. SADLY, the best service I recieved from them was from the customer service rep who helped me when I cancelled my policy.

Great Investment with Multiple Pets!

ASPCA health insurance is affordable and competitive. That is why we picked it for our large family of furries. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. We have been able to afford great coverage for all of them with ASPCA. It is great to know we are helping a good cause at the same time. The insurance for all 4 has more than paid for itself, especially as our babies begin to age. Thank you ASPCA!

Pet Insurance is Worth It!

I keep reading articles online and in magazines saying that you should just set the money aside you pay for premiums for insurance and you will have it when your pet has an emergency - instead of buying the insurance. But who actually does that?? I had a dog that cost me an arm and a leg years ago (but worth it) so I signed up for Embrace for the two dogs I got after he passed and then the rescue I couldn't give up two years ago. One of them just had a bout with gastroenteritis and pancreatitis which I just received the reimbursement for. And now that I'm retired the premium is minimal compared to what the costs were for two ICU stays for him. I take care of the routine check ups but its nice to know should they need in-hospital care that I can say yes without worrying about paying the bill.

Adopting an older dog

About two and a half years ago we adopted a sweet collie/golden mix. Shortly after he came to us, he suddenly developed Turner's syndrome. Fortunately Embrace Pet Insurance covered the MRI cost. After that, we had two good years, until about six months ago our dog slowed down considerable, and rather suddenly. We needed had a number of tests done, including some that necessitated his staying overnight at the hospitals. Embrace covered these. Sadly, we discovered that our sweet dog had cancer, and we lost him about a month ago. Embrace was always quick about letting us know that they had received our submitted bills and the reimbursement checks came soon after. I would definitely recommend Embrace very highly.
