Years ago I tried a pet insurance company but they found a loophole to deny everything. I spent over $10,000 over his 14 years because he then was uninsurable and I thought pet insurance was a scam. But then I found Trupanion. In 2009 when I got a puppy I researched pet insurance companies. I found Trupanion to have the best coverage and best prices. I switched to them and have insured 3 dogs with them. I must say, the service has been absolutely outstanding and personal. Their claim process and reimbursement is fast. They keep me informed every step of the way. I had to put my 13 yr old dog to sleep last week and before I could even contact Trupanion to tell them, Cynthia Howell contacted me with condolences and said she already took care of cancelling the policy, issuing my refund and contacted the vet for the final bill. She was so kind and saved me having to make that awful call to take care of business during my time of grief. I also got a personal handwritten note that was not just some canned wording. She knew my dogs, she knew the one who I lost prior to Trupanion. That card means so much. Another time I made a change to my deductible and didn't fully understand the details. Trupanion rep assisted me to correct the error I made and paid out my outstanding claims. I now have an 8 month old puppy whom I insured with Trupanion from the day I got him. He ended up needing a $2,038 surgery. Other companies would not have covered this surgery, but Trupanion has. I will sing

This was my first claim with Embrace and I was very happy about how many emails I received keeping me up to date on the status of my claim and how fast everything was processed. Very easy procedure and very friendly and responsive customer service!

I am not one for Pet "aka Kid" insurance. My vet recommended Embrace...and he was right. The insurance is wonderful. Yes...it is expensive...but I would not want anything less. Just look at stats. How can a $10/mo insurance meet needs of a sick pet? Look at BC/BS. What are we paying for our health insurance????? Are our pups or pusskins any different??????? I don't think so. I would be more than willing to discuss with anyone insurance. I do not work for Embrace..I am a skeptical person.So thank you Embrace...Gwyn

Ive had Pets Best for my young Maltese. He has been stricken with so many illnesses and ailments this past year that I was so worried I would lose him. Our vet was finally able to pinpoint the source of most of his problems, Hypothyroidism. He also has back problems. He was put on meds and now after a few months is doing so much better! He is almost back to his playful Maltese self! I spent alot of money on tests, bloodwork, meds, X-Rays and visits! I would do anything to save my pet but wouldnt have been able to afford it without the coverage provided to us by Pets Best! All of my claims have been approved, and yes Ive paid my co-pays, and deductibles ..but always get a portion of the claim back. That helps me so much! This is the first time Ive had insurance on any of my dogs and he is the first to have many issues. Im always worried a claim wont be approved ...but they have all been so far. My premium has increased for the first time on this year's renewal but only went up a small amount. Nothing drastic. I hope my dog gets better so he can simply enjoy his doggie life. He will require meds for the rest of his life but thanks to Pets Best he will have a good quality of life because of the safety of insurance in case anything else comes up. THANK YOU to Pets Best! I would highly recommend them to anyone with pets!

My oldest (but not that old - 10 years) Border Collie was stricken with a very rare intestinal lymphoma in October 2011 and died on November 3, 2011. In the short span of three weeks, her medical expenses totaled over $14,000. After that horrific experience and then losing her to a painful death, I decided that my other dogs all needed insurance. I checked into every company I could find and selected Healthy Paws based on their reviews, mission to save dogs, and their very competitive price and coverage options. I never anticipated having to actually use the insurance so soon! Barely more than a month after insuring my pups, one was bitten by a rattlesnake while we were out for a noontime walk on the golf course. It turns out that treatment of a rattlesnake bite is very expensive - the bill ended up being in the neighborhood of $2250. I was SO glad that I made the decision to insure my dogs. Because this was the first claim, I had to get the vet's office to submit all of my dog's medical records for review. That delayed payment of the claim only slightly. I received a check for 90% of the expenses minus the $250 deductible before my credit card bill for his treatment even arrived. These guys were great. This is great insurance and I would recommend it to everyone who has little furry children. We had it for a year before we had to use it. Our schnauzer, Pepper, had a nasty bladder stone which had to be removed right away. And the insurance was there and paid right away also. It is worth the money in my opinion.

We purchased Trupanion insurance for three of our Maltese after one of them had pneumonia as a puppy. I thought I would be using the insurance first for the oldest one, but the youngest dog developed a chronic illness around a year of age.
