Completely Satisfied

My cat had hyperthyroidism and needed an expensive procedure. ASPCA pet insurance paid for almost all of it!

Great service, but. . .

I appreciate the email telling me my check is in the mail and how much it will be. I just wish I could sign up for direct deposit online, as I cannot call in during your office hours. And I really need my refund now.

Trupanion.... Awesome!!!

My pit/lab mix had ACL tear right rear leg. Vet did a great job! Trupanion did an awesome job. Very caring professional staff. They got her pre-approved for surgery in less than a day. Claim and reimbursements done quickly and accurately. I can't say enough good things about the company and especially the caring people @ Trupanion. Thank you all!!

Embrace Pet gives peace of mind

Our pet mini schnauzer, Viki, had a frightening experience a few weeks ago. After a few minutes of ball playing, She could not walk without falling down and was completely disoriented. We took her to the vet the next day who recommended we take her to a heart specialist. She was diagnosed with bradycardia. I have never heard of that heart issue. He said she could have another episode but can't tell when. He also said to be mindful of this when she plays. She is fine now but we were indeed worried. Both vets sent reports to Embrace and within a day or two we were notified that a claim had been made. We received a check within the month. I was very pleased with the quick response and indeed have peace of mind knowing that we are dealing with such a responsive company. Embrace Pet is the way to go!!

I expected more for a company that is non-profit

I bought ASPCA health insurance policies for both of my dogs. I was stunned to learn that they do not pay the full amount of the veterinary charges, but have their own "price list" of what care should cost. Then, they sell a policy with an $8000 annual insurance maximum, BUT if you read the fine print, the limit is $1500 PER illness. One of my dogs was just diagnosed with Attison's Disease, and the cost of treatment was over $3000 dollars. ASCPCA only paid 80%, and stopped paying at $1500. When I went over the claims, ASPCA has only been paying around 60% of the cost of pet care when you include their 80% coverage and their maximum price office visit and other charges. I am switching to Pets Best, which pays 100% of veterinary charges, and does not have a limit per illness.

Great Pet Insurance

Kibo, my young chocolate lab, just turned two years old last week. He has chronic Kidney disease and now needs daily subcutaneous fluids which I have begun to do myself. Kibo is doing fine on this long term requirement and still active. The processing time of my claims from June & July have been reasonable based on their implementation of new software. I appreciate their genuine concern.

Worst insurance coverage I've ever had

When I applied for coverage my puppy was 3 and 1/2 months old. Embrace wanted me to get an orthopedic exam, and then they would wave the 6 mo. waiting period. My vet advised against this saying very young puppies can exhibit as if there was a joint problem because their joints, ligaments etc. are much looser than an older dog and can present as a problem when there actually is none. For this reason I didn't get the exam. A month before the end of the waiting period, my dog fell and bruised a muscle in her neck, which was diagnosed as a soft tissue injury. This was not a pre-existing condition, but because Embrace defines Orthopedic as including muscles, cartilage, tendons, ligaments and joints they denied the claim. As far as I'm concerned they set you up to deny claims based on their definition of orthopedic . I was under the impression that would mean bones. Also although this claim was filed in May, I heard nothing from them until the beginning of July. Every week I would get an excuse, We're working on your claim. This isn't like Embrace." This has happened with every claim. I have a claim for an ear infection predating the soft tissue injury that I still haven't heard about. My vet had told me she heard this was good insurance. She now knows it isn't. I would not recommend it to anyone.
