Excellent Service

Our dog experienced back pain and was barely able to walk. Our vet gave him some muscle relaxants and did a series of laser treatments to relieve swelling. I was worried they wouldn't cover the treatments because they are not commonly used. Embrace covered the treatments and we are grateful that they did. Our dog is so much better and we used very little medication.

best pet insurance. Fast service

My 3 year old Maltese-Poodle mix was attacked by 2 boxers while I was taking her for a walk. A portion of her intestine was sticking out from the wound she sustained. She had emergency surgery and stayed in the hospital for 2 days. I was surprised at how fast HealtyPaws responded to my claim. I received a reply from them 4 hours after I submitted my claim. It is also reassuring to know that they will pay 90 percent of the total bill. Getting Healthy Paws insurance for my dog was the smartest thing I've done.

Refund after teeth extractions

My dog had to have teeth extractions related to gum disease. Once I submitted my claim, Trupanion kept me informed about my claim and refunded me promptly after they had followed up on my dogs history and treatment.

Best Pet Insurance I've Had

I dropped the pet insurance I had with another popular plan, and signed with Healthy Paws in February, 2013. In September, 2013, we discovered Zeus (my loving rescued pit-mix) had highly abnormal liver enzymes. Zeus was referred to an internal medicine specialist at the Veterinary Specialty Animal Hospital where he underwent a slew of diagnostic tests, including ultrasound and laparoscopic liver biopsy. We are still looking for a definitive diagnosis. Specialty animal vets are very expensive, and vet costs to date are just shy of $3,000. Healthy Paws has come through like I never expected. There were no hassles, and claims have been paid quickly and as promised. I feel a little guilty having filed claims so soon after Zeus' policy became effective, but as I said, there were absolutely no questions or hold-ups. Customer Service is wonderful to work with. Healthy Paws has exceeded all my expectations, and I am so glad I made the change! I highly recommend!

Healthy Paws is a no-brainer

Healthy Paws is the best insurance available. I cannot stop bragging about how smart I am to have hooked up with them a couple of years ago. In addition to courteous, swift service, they offer the kind of coverage you need: comprehensive. It's also totally affordable and proves itself well worth the investment again and again. I have a young dog who was diagnosed this year with what my vet called "the worst hip dysplasia" she'd ever seen. He had to have his whole hip replaced-- the dysplasia was so bad you could feel the head of his femur through his skin, and it had worn away part of the edge of his hip socket. Most insurance companies don't cover hip dysplasia. It's too expensive, and I'm sure its very prevalent. I will never stop thanking my lucky stars that Buddy was covered with Healthy Paws. I tell everyone with a pet to get insured with Healthy Paws ASAP. My vet is now singing their praises, too. With Healthy Paws, I know I'll never end up in a situation where I have to choose between the health of my best friend and years of debt.

Most unreliable, double talking company

The brochure I received before purchasing clearly states that they cover hereditary conditions. When my dachshound ruptured a disc and became paralyzed she needed immediate surgery. The bills totaled almost $6000. ASPCA refused to pay any of it because dachshounds are prone to this type of injury, calling it hereditary, and saying she isn't covered. A great "bait and switch tactic". The brochure says level 3 covers hereditary conditions but, they did not list it in the contract they later wrote up. CUSTOMER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!

Mya and Trupanion in lock step

Mya went in for a tumor removal from her paw and while under anesthesia she started having heart arrhythmias and had to have the drug reversed. Trupanion still covered the drugs and treatment even though they never removed the tumor and also covered Mya to see a cardiologist. Trupanion has been literally life saving as well as made this tough time manageable as well as showed that they truly care about Our dogs well being. Again Stella from Trupanion has treated us like family and we could not be happier. Could not ask for a better company to be handling such crucial matters. Truly the best!!
