Sudden pet illness, surgery, death

this year I was notified my pet insurance was increasing. Angered at the cost of healthcare, I cancelled my policies on both my pets. I foolisly thought I would not need it. I never carried health coverage on a pet before and had not needed it, so why pay for something you don't need, right. WRONG...my dog turned 2 in March, a beautiful springer spaniel that we loved more than any dog before. She was of champion breeding stock, from a well known kennel. Parents cleared for any heredity issues, so what could go wrong. She was quiet, not a chewer. Why would I think anything would go wrong. I kept my lost pet insurance, that should take care of my needs...WRONG. She started to limp on her rear leg, no pain, no injury identified by vet. Appeared to be a sprain or sore paw. Put her on pain meds for 4 days, got better immediately. Throwing up food, back to vet. Appeared to be reation to pain meds. Shot for nausea. Great for 2 days, then refused to eat evening meal, very unlike her, won't take bedtime treat, again unlike her. To vet in morning, soon as office open. Xrays negative, lab work good, more tests. insisted we need to check further. Dog not doing any better. emergency surgery revealed hole in stomach. Emergency hospital care following surgery. My beautiful baby died the next morning. The cost quite high with no pet to show for it. I saved 500.00 because of my anger in healthcare costs and payed more than 6 times more in the end. GET PET INSURANCE and keep it. It will keep y

I have decided to cancel

I bought the insuance for my 2 dogs last year. I just received an email that my plan is going up about 50% and they are raising the deductible. The website shows the old price still. When I tried to call and ask why, I was on hold 30 minutes before I finally gave up and left a message. 3 days later and I am still waiting for my message to be returned. The only bills I had this past year was the yearly checkup and shots and it took 6 weeks to get my money back. I have decided to cancel the insurance and just put the money in a bank account monthly. I'd rather keep the money myself and use it if I have to than give it away 'just in case'

many many paws

Our family has been a Petshealth Care Plan client for many, many years and we could not be more pleased with the service we have received. At different times we have had between 4 and 6 pets covered and while most are rescues we have been very happy with the level of service provided. Now our three daughters are out of the house and they each have 2 cats as well, all covered by the same plan. While we know there are differing levels of service, we have been very happy and understand that insurance is not an all inclusive catch all, but it sure does help. We have had a dog with cancer (twice), a cat with an amputated leg, a Gastroplexy (stomach twist) as well as the normal run of the mill issues, but through them all, our animals are still covered and living long and happy lives. Thank you for being there and so responsive when we have need you. Michael and Jamie and all the Paws

pleased from the start

Having researched and reviewed other pet insurance plans I knew Embrace was a perfect match for me and my two Newfoundlands.I purchased the plan that best fit our needs and dropped the other pet insurance company because of their terms. From my first contact to Embrace to the present,I have dealt with pleasant and professional people in a prompt manner.I have recommended it to all of our Newfie and non newfie friends.I am so pleased and will continue to speard the good word about Embrace because I truely believe that they care about the well being of our fury family members through their actions.

Best Insurance for your pet

My Brittany Diesel is my whole world. I got Diesel at 7 weeks old and he came with a free Petsecure voucher. I ended up with my first emergency vet bill of over $700 within just a few weeks of brining Diesel home. Diesel is now 7 years old and I have spent over $27,000.00 on him, thankfully I have Petsecure, who reimbursed me more than half that amount. The reimbursements are done quickly and the staff is so friendly and helpful whenever I have had to call. Petsecure offers the most amazing coverage I have ever seen, some companies only cover accidental claims, but Petsecure covers so much more. Not only do they cover accidental and illnesses, they also cover annual exams, Spay or Neuter, Microchiping, Dew claw removal, Alternative therapies like chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic treatments, and even behaviour therapy, and that’s not all. I feel so bad when I hear about animals that have to be put down or surrendered because their vet bills costs are too high. I think all pet owners should have some kind of pet insurance for their animals, after all, they are a part of our family. Thank you Petsecure for always being there for me and Diesel.

Good Coverage!

When we were awaiting a new puppy in 2008, we again began researching pet insurance. We have a pack and insurance coverage with 3 other companies too so we've been through the claim process before. All of the companies have paid exactly according to their terms. But what I really like about the Embrace insurance policy is that it allowed us to customize coverage and opt for continuing care... something to seriously consider if you want ongoing treatment to be considered. It's the first time I'd seen this offered on a policy. Claim form submission is easier than with some companies... the policyholder section of the form is very easy to complete and I like having the option to fax the bills and claim form to Embrace. We recently received a check from Embrace for $545.05 for allergy testing on our boy... there's no doubt that this policy pays. I'm a big believer in pet insurance... buy it when your pet is young before any conditions might prevent him/her from obtaining coverage later on. If you aren't sure you can afford the annual premium, consider how you'll pay for unexpected chronic or serious medical conditions that might cost thousands...

Best Pet Insurance !!!!!

I have a newly adopted Catahoula Leopard Dog who is absolutely gorgeous and absolutely a handful! Thankfully I had enough sense to get pet insurance a few months after adopting her and was recommended Trupanion through my vet. Little did I know that injuries and mishaps would soon follow at a HUGE cost! I would literally be flat broke if it wasn't for this insurance company. My dog is now healing wonderfully after having expensive shoulder surgery which involved xrays, mri, and the surgery itself. The reimbursement is stellar and they have a very quick turnaround time. Definitely the best pet insurance I've heard and one that I'll NEVER be without!

Prompt, courteous and compassionate response

Over the years, my husband and I heard only negative comments from friends about pet insurance companies. Yet, given the amount of money we spent to keep our previous pets healthy, we decided to give Pets Best a chance. We are very glad we made that choice. Our eight-month old mini-dachshund was running and broke her leg in the process. She had to have surgery, and the vet bills amounted to over $3,000. Our policy had been in effect for less than six months, and my husband was sure the company would find some way to not pay our claim. He was so totally wrong! Pets Best provided prompt, efficient and compassionate claim processing, and we had our reimbursement check in hand in just a few weeks. We are so grateful to have found and honest and ethical pet insurance company who was there to support us when we needed them the most. We'll recommend Pets Best to all our friends. We hope never to need the company's services again, but we are comforted to know they will be there to support us should the need arise.

Terrible Service

I have paid a monthly fee for insurance for my dog for over a year now. The first claim was paid however it took 3 months to receive the payemnt. They say that they mailed the check, then it never arrives. It takes them another 20 business days to make another check and then it never arrives. They say they are mailing from Canada and there is no way to track it and it takes longer to arrive. Finally after 3 months my claim was paid. I continued paying monthly fees for 12 months. Now, I submitted my second claim and they said they don't have any medical records for my dog. They don't have a history of the first claim or any of the paperwork I submitted. They waited 20 days to tell me this, now requested all new information and then I have to wait another 20 days while they review it. I think it is a scamn. They just hope nobody has the patience to deal with their horrible customer service and that they won't have to pay the claim. As soon as this claim is paid, I am cancelling my insurance. They are the worst company I have ever had to work with.
