Pets Best is the BEST!

Pets Best Insurance is awesome!!! They are so quick to process your claim and get you reimbursed for you out of pocket expenses in a very timely manner. My nine year old dog, Brando, tore his ACL and had to have over $4500 in surgery and associated costs. I had the reimbursement check back from Pets Best w/in two weeks!! Even before his stitches were removed, they had sent me a check! Wonderful service.....terrific customer service....and all around awesome insurance company.

ASPCA pet insurance for dogs

I have insurance IN CASE of a major accident or a catastrophic illness such as bloat or if one of my dogs needs surgery after eating something that blocks their intestine. It helps with regular yearly visits, but the allowable coverage is much less than my vet charges so it really doesn't help me at all. The monthly insurance fee is very high for the two of them as I have them covered for almost anything. I spend more each month than their yearly physical costs. Like I said, it's for IN CASE of a major problem.

Embrace is so amazing!!

I just received an awesome news today. I filed a pre-certification for a root canal on my Italian Greyhound. He chipped his back molar and the live pulp was exposed...I needed the help quickly. This precertification was not supposed to be straightforward since they usually don't cover root canal except for canine teeth. However, one of the representative on the phone told me to at least try to file for it with the dentist's letter for justification. To be honest, I didn't have much expectation. I thought they'll just go by the books like any other insurance companies. Boy, I was wrong!! All representatives I talked to were so sympathetic for my Lucious and extremely helpful. They have expedited the decision process when I mentioned that the infection can spread further if we wait too long. Reimbursement is always fast too. I just love this company and the caring people who work for Embrace. They are sincere, polite, and extremely helpful. I feel safe with Embrace. I definitely recommend them to anybody! I gave 9 only because when I call to talk to a specific person I tend to get somebody else because the person is unavailable. I just have to explain the situation again, but it doesn't matter much since everyone overthere is so nice!

I recommend Trupanion to every pet owner I know

A few months ago we adopted brother and sister twin kittens. Being a new pet owner I was new to the idea of pet insurance. I was offered a free 30 day trial of Trupanion and decided to give it a try. Not even two weeks later, I came home to find one of my cats, Roku, extremely sick. He had vomited and barely had enough energy to lift his head from where he was lying. Our vet recommended bringing him into the clinic immediately. After being examined, Roku’s blood pressure was dangerously low and the vet was concerned. To complicate matters it was Friday and the vet clinic was closed for the weekend. At my vet’s recommendation I took Roku to an emergency clinic where they had to perform emergency surgery for a possible blocked intestine. They had strong suspicions that he might have swallowed a foreign object or that he had contracted FIP (feline intestinal paracytosis) which is a deadly disease in cats. So one surgery and multiple tests later, the clinic bill had skyrocketed to over $4000. Not exactly the kind of money you keep lying around. I was freaked out by the bill but knew that I had the Trupanion trial. After submitting my claim, I was reimbursed for 90% of the entire bill, no questions asked. I had the check in my hands before the charge was even printed on my credit card statement. All of this and I hadn’t even made my first monthly payment to Trupanion. Roku completely recovered from his surgery and is totally healthy today. Who knows how things would have gone

Repeat Customer

In May 2009 we lost our beloved 13 year old Jack Russell. We then adopted two schnauzer mixes and decided we would try the insurance this go round. I did alot of research against the big names and finally chose this start up company because they were in Ohio and I wanted to support local businesses. I have been very pleased with the customer support and the quick turn around in processing claims. I will definiately continue to use Embrace Pet. I would not endorse a company in which I wasn't sure about their performance.

very good

We had to have a lump removed from our dog Henry's left leg and biopsied. The lab report was negative, no cancer and Trupanion approved the claim promptly and fully. The only delay came when Trupanion had to wait for my vet's office to send Henry's medical history (this was our first claim).

Worth the price!

We have a very active dog that seems to get into injury trouble among other things. After $1500 of vet bills in one year, we opted for getting insurance. I researched a bunch and Embrace came out way ahead. I liked the fact that you can customize your policy to meet you needs. We opted for the 90% coverage (10% co-pay) and paid yearly so we got a separate discount. What makes this somewhat unique compared to others I’ve researched is the fact that they pay based on the actual bill, not customary charges. If you’ve ever had to battle with dental insurance (for humans), you’ll understand that that type of insurance pays customary charges which seem to be fees based off the 1980’s. No one charges that today and you get stuck paying the overage. Embrace will pay the bill at whatever level you’ve signed up for. I’ve been hesitant to write a review until I actually needed to use their service but have now met my deductible within 6 months and now I am receiving my first “refund” due to vet bills exceeding my deductible. Their service is quick on claim processing, I have not yet received my first reimbursement check but I’m told it was mailed today….One thing to note though is to make sure you review your paperwork properly from the vet before filing. Also, review what is “covered” from Embrace with each charge. I noticed an error on the Embraces part, called it to their attention and they quickly fixed it. Also, at first, I had to “debate” pre-existing conditions by requesting additional vet paper work and clarification in order for Embrace to fully understand the health history of our dog. They were more than willing to hear me out and adjusted accordingly. So far the service has been great and I’m recommending them. I did not rank 10 out of 10 yet for I really don’t know how long it will take for my check to arrive- I don’t want direct deposit. One more note, it’s important to do the math when considering what type of plan you want. Wellness was not a viable option for us to consider for the overall benefit but may be for you if you spread out your payments. So look at the different options carefully.

Embrace is a MUST DO!

I have had Embrace pet insurance for about 2 years now, and just upgraded this year to include the wellness plan. I wish every company would operate with the same customer service philosophy as I've been consistently impressed with every encounter I have had with anyone at this company. Filing claims is so easy as you received personalized claim forms, and I just set up direct deposit so the process is near effortless. I can't recommend Embrace enough!

Pet Insurance is a Must!

I have had pet insurance for my dogs for over 15 years, and I am very pleased to have Petshealth Care Plan Insurance for my dogs. I tried another company for a short time, and was disappointed. Petshealth Care Plan is an insurance company that is easy to work with, has knowledgeable and friendly staff, and is a pleasure to do business with. Bait & Switch???

I insured my two cats with Embrace for a year. The insurance appealed to me because Embrace touted how they would cover ongoing conditions beyond the first policy year and not consider them pre-existing conditions at renewal time. However, a close reading of the fine print revealed that coverage for ongoing conditions would be considerably reduced after the initial policy year, a stipulation I had to really dig for in order to find it out. Worse yet, when the first year's coverage approached its end and renewal time came up, Embrace jacked up the premiums by more than 40%. The initial premium was very competitive, but the second year's premium was outrageous. I felt that such a huge premuim ncrease for the second year almost amounted to a bait and switch tactic. Needless to say I didn't renew!
