A good investment for your pet

Our golden retriever, Murphy started to limp and I noticed his right front outer toe was swollen and his limp was getting worse by the next day so I made an appointment with the vet. They had to sedate him to take an x ray of his paw but the x ray ruled out a break or fracture of any kind. They could not feel an abscess, so figured it may have been something like a sting or bite and he was having a reaction to it. They eventually placed him on steroid tablets for a few days and some benadryl capsules. Eventually, he did get better and it took a couple of weeks for the limping to totally stop but he is back to his old self again. I am so thankful for pet insurance, because we are on a retired income and he is the first dog I have ever had insured. So glad I made that decision! My total bill was 423.00 and my insurance paid 224.00 of that. What a help!

Pretty Easy

I had this insurance for my dog for most of her life. It was a great plan. I had 100% coverage (illness or injury) with a $50 deductible per condition with a $3000 max per condition per year. My pit bull needed a few surgeries (cancer, blown ACL, tumors) and they were always covered. I would send the claim form to my vet and they would fax it over and a few weeks later I would get a check from the insurance minus my $50 deductible. My only problem with them was that they didn't cover her preventative care (vaccines) and her allergies. She had severe allergies and constantly needed medicine for them. Although that was frustrating, I was grateful that the surgeries were all covered. I know they don't offer my plan anymore. I think they offer a 20/80 split plan now and they have preventative plans now too. I would recommend them.

Excellent Service

After a horrible exprience with a previous company I switched to Trupanion and I am very pleased. Max stopped eating, vommitted and had bloody stool so I rushed him to the emergency vet 2 weekends ago, he needed IV antibiotics and was ready to go home the next morning with some antibiotic pills. His misadventure cost $660 and Trupanion is covering $460 of it, well worth the switch. (If this were my old policy the vet & I would be faxing all of the documents 3 times each, only to have it denied.) Trupanion made an unpleasant experienc, for the dog and I, much better with their prompt and fair service!

Worry Free Support

I recently submitted my largest claim to date after my Beagle fell extremely ill. I was worried that maybe I hadn't read everything correctly (you know...the fine print) and it wouldn't be as "covered" as I thought. What a relief to know that this company does exactly what it says it will. The reponse was fast, organized, detailed, and very easy to understand and most importantly caring! Embrace staff really care about your pet! Financially this would have been impossible for me to manage so their quick response has really saved my month! I am so glad that I did not have to skimp on care for my dog for financial reasons. I just couldn't handle that burden. I love Embrace! Thank you!

Paid Claim, But Initially Balked at It

Moe, about 8-months old at the time, apparently got a wound on his tail from accidentally getting outside. It was on his leg, and I did not notice it till he reacted to the pain in it, so it was infected. His Home Again emergency-vet service recommended taking him to an emergency vet as it was after hours at the time. Since then, I've taken him to his regular vet for a similar injury (probably an infected wound from a cat fight), and it only costs about 40 percent as much there. We didn't know what it was, and it wasn't till they shaved his leg that they realized it was an infected wound. He would bite when touched on the leg. Anyway, the cleaning and treatment of the wound, including Clavamox for infection, came out to about $270 with the emergency vet. At first, PetCare balked at paying the claim, but eventually they did. It took a while. They also recently got me to renew with a better policy (PetCare Gold 90), and even with a discount, it's about $250/year, much higher than PetPlan I notice, which gets much better reviews and provides better coverage. I will probably switch, but PetCare's OK to me so far, but I'm a bit leery.

Covers dental work!

I have a 8 year old orange tabby who never chews his food and had a pretty bad mouth because of it. It was getting to the point where his cat-breath would make me kick him out of bed. My vet had recommended a dental but the estimate was like 650 bucks, and that was assuming that there was no surprises and more teeth needed to be taken out. The vet also told me that this insurance company would cover it. I had never really considered pet insurance cause he has always been really healthy and never gone to the vet for anything other than his yearly check up and vaccines. I signed up and Tom got his teeth cleaned later that week, and had a few teeth removed. His mouth is much happier, and I am just glad he smells better. Bonus was when the 80% reimbursement check came! Even better than getting this teeth benefit every year, now he is covered for anything else that could happen as he gets older. And it's way cheaper than I thought too.

Awesome! Worth Every Penny!

Their customer service is amazing, and they are very fair. Our dog ended up with a number of health problems, and the service pays for itself just with his prescriptions. He also had an emergency, and Embrace paid a few thousand dollars. We never would have been able to pay for our dogs hospital visit without the insurance. They always email us to let us know what is going on when they are processing a claim. Our dog gets better medical care because we don't have to worry about the price. We put his bill on a credit card, and Embrace sends us a check before the bill is due.

I can't imagine not having pet insurance

I've had this pet insurance for the last few years. Luckily I only needed to use it for routine stuff and the coverage was great for this. Recently my dog had to go to an emergency service with a follow up with our Vet. This was very costly but cost was not a question. The insurance helped me alot by covering most of the bill. The cost was never an issue but it's comforting to know that if something happens to your pet you don't have to worry there is help with ASPCA Pet Insurance.
