I've had a very good (and unexpectedly easy) experience with the whole process of submitting a claim to Trupanion. My dog (1 1/2 year old Spaniel mix) had hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. It was incredibly scary, but also very comforting at the vet to be able to tell them to do whatever they needed to, cost is not an issue. My dog recovered after 2 days in the vet hospital and once the vet finalized the charges, I just had to fill out a one page long claim form and then give it to the vet to submit to Trupanion. The vet provided them with my dog's medical records. Trupanion was very responsive, sent emails every couple of days to update me on their progress on the claim, and I received a check from them less than 3 weeks after the claim was submitted. The amount covered everything I expected. Overall, very impressed and happy with the outcome.

Started my insurance in March 2013 because my friends dog got hit by a car and he got hit with a 6000.00 dollar bill. My dog Bronx is a pit bull and he can get very wound up so I was nervous and thought pet insurance would be a good idea. First experience in actually submitting claims to Trupanion. Everything went smoothly and payment was prompt. The communication via email was above and beyond. We were kept fully aware of the status of our claims submitted over a number of weeks. Reside in Florida / Summer address CT.Claims were in CT.

My husband and I had our doubts about Embrace, as we did with any other insurance carrier and the insurance industry in general. However, Embrace came through on our claim and made everything so easy! Our 4 1/2 year old Boston Terrier had to have surgery for her brachycephalic-related issues. Our claim form was faxed in and within the next few days we received an email acknowledging receipt and that our claim would be processed within approximately 20 days. We received another email just to let us know the claim was still in queue, and then a final email within the 20 days saying it was processed and that a refund check was already on its way. Coverage aside, the customer service at Embrace is wonderful. Prompt, friendly responses and updates. It's like Amazon or Zappos, but for pets :) We love Embrace and have our other Boston covered under them.
