DELAY TACTICS

Perhaps they think we'll just say oh never mind?they don't get the faxes, they don't get the faxes.. they don't get an email.. give me a break. they will just try to delay it until it passes the deadline for submission. Do they pay the vets bill? No, they pay.. sometimes.... but what they decide to pay. Is a bill from the vet stamped paid .. qualify as a paid receipt? no, they must have it written their way ..even though each vet has their own invoice style. It is all b...t. I'm very unhappy with them since my first claim. Looking around for another company.. for my pets.. I have several.. I'm told that all insurance companies all awful . that's not encouraging.

The Best!

We have had other insurances for our goldens (VPI)and we found their reimbursement not anywhere in line with what our vet charged. After thoroughly researching and comparing numerous canine insurance company plans and after several calls and emails with their professional customer service, we chose Embrace. We found that Embrace reimbursed according to charges for the area. A month ago and a little shy of 6 months after registering with Embrace, our 3.5 year old golden was diagnosed w/acute pancreatitis. We rushed him to the emergency clinic, since it was the weekend and our vet was not open. Extensive blood testing was done. X-rays were done. He ended up staying a whole day & night on I/V at the clinic, constantly being monitored. The following Monday a.m. they transported him to our vet where the monitoring and I/V continued as well as blood testing. Their customer service is excellent. Claims we faxed were promptly acknowledged via email and reimbursement was received promptly. The bill ended up being over $2000 and Embrace reimbursed us for everything they said they would. Thank you Embrace!

Poor Experience

We've had Pets Best for over a year now and they are extremely difficult to work with. They're customer service is terrible (don't return phone calls, can't explain the process well, etc) and they claim everything is preexisting. We are currently looking for other another company to insure our cats.

Slow Claims Process

I have had my dog insured by Embrace since May of 2008. I recently submitted my first claim and had to submit records from each of the veterinarians that he had been to. It was a bit of a hassle, but understandable and the communications via email were excellent during each step of this process. Once Embrace had all of the information they requested, they told me that I would hear from them about my claim "within 15 business days", but after a month without hearing a word, I emailed them to find out my claim status. They were apologetic and said that they were expanding their claims department at the time which caused the delay. Two days later, I got my answer, my claim was denied due to pre-existing condition. I purchased a policy with Embrace because of their high customer rating and I will be curious about how future claims are handled. Overall, Embrace customer care is very good and caring, just a bit slow at this time. I would recommend Embrace.

Thankyou ASPCA/HARTVILLE

We have a one year old Bernese Mountain Dog. He became very ill with lyme disease. Our local vet , on our first puppy visit with him , highly reccomended ASPCA Pet Insurance. Thank goodness!! The bills were over $2000, as he was in ICU for a week. We received a check from ASPCA within a month of our claim. My daughter and I thank you with all our hearts for commitment to pet parents !! We have recomended your insurance to all our friends. I own a flower shop in a very nice shopping area that also has a wonderful pet store. They also tell people about ASPCA Pet Insurance. Again, thank you for being there for us.

Payment denied

My dog tore her ACL when she was running and got her leg caught in a fence. While this clearly was an "accident" Petcare said that ACL injuries are musculoskeletal illnesses and cannot be caused by an accident. As we had used funds in this category already her surgery claim was denied. An accident is a specific event. They told me that if she is hit by a car and breaks her leg that is an accident. If she is hit by a car and tears her ACL it is an illness. The accident is being hit by the car! My vet and vet surgeon both wrote to them challenging this but nothing changed. I immediately cancelled my plans for both of my dogs.

Paid Exactly As Promised

I purchased a PetFirst policy for my dog in September 2007 when my dog was six. I needed it in May 2008 when my dog got sick. Sadly, tests revealed she had an illness that necessitated that we put her to sleep. The insurance paid for all of the vet expenses ($350) and the euthanasia ($90) less a $50 deductible and co-pay of 10%. It did not pay for the burial ($60). So out of the $500 in expenses that weekend, our cost was only $150 which was a lot easier to manage than the full amount all at once. They paid promptly and even refunded the portion of my insurance policy that was unused for the month...which I was not expecting. You do have to pay the costs up front and then get reimbursed...but if you pay by credit card, the insurance payment will probably come in about the same time as the credit card payment is due. I am adopting another pet this month and am looking at purchasing this insurance again.

Benefits Out-weigh the Cost

My 150 lb Bullmastiff cracked one of his lower teeth (canine fang) and he appeared to be uncomfortable because the root was exposed. I took him to a veterinarian who specialized in dog dentistry. I had two options - pull it or put a crown on it. Needless to say, the cost of a crown was extremely prohibitive ($2,000+) and it would have created maintenance issues because it is common for crowns to come loose and they usually end up being swallowed, therefore needing to be replaced. The vet assured me he would be fine without the tooth (unlike some animals in the wild who rely on their canine teeth for survival). Pulling the tooth required major surgery. I realized why after seeing the tooth once it was pulled (the entire tooth was over 2 inches long and looked like it had come out of a shark!). The cost of the surgery was almost $900 of which my pet insurance covered over half without any question or delay.

Highly Recommended!

Embrace just approved my claim for my lab's TPLO procedure. Everyone I dealt with was caring, compassionate, and easily accessible. I am so pleased with Embrace. I would highly recommend Embrace to all pet owners.
